My daughters and I visited on July 4th and had a blast. The weather was not cooperating in the morning but we had fun walking the old farm and seeing the animals. We come every year to enjoy the park, the kids get a kick out of hearing their names being called by Paul B-man as my youngest says it. The staff was wonderful, as always a wonderful trip

It seems real run down. No upkeep on anything. Not enough staff to run the rides. Staff would have to juggle 2 rides. Very disappointed in the price for what you get.

Went end of July. I like to pick vacation spots with a major attraction in mind and this was on the list as we had already done the Dells this summer. We opted for a more secluded camping option and tent camped at Charles A. Lindbergh State Park and also visited the Pine Grove Zoo. It was about a 25 minute drive from Little Falls.
It was just under $100 for two adults and two preschoolers. When you pay, you also write your kids names on a paper and Wizard of Oz style, Paul Bunyan will talk with them by name. “Paul” spent a fair bit of time talking to them, and even responded like he would as a person - like he told them to sit on his boot for a picture, when they sat on the ground he said “I think you should sit on my boot - it makes a better picture”.
Most the rides were not new and shiny, the fun houses and train ride needed some upkeep to be what they were intended to be. That being said, my son loved walking through the mine and did it 3 times in a row. Many of the rides you could find at a pop-up carnival and most had a higher than expected height requirement. We had to ride several of them with our kids who weren’t 45”. The lines were short and the main driver for lines was waiting for staff to rotate between rides.
Admission did include a rock climbing wall and I was surprised and glad my kids were tall enough to do that. It also included a walk through the old time village which was many buildings but many were unorganized/unstaged. They had a petting zoo. It also looked like they once had a section you could play games, like tick tac toe, with chickens, but that seemed to have been closed long ago. The animal area needed upkeep, which was harder to look past.
I would go again if others with little kids wanted a Minnesota adventure and had not been…for us, once was enough, unless we were bringing someone new.

The place is very retro with old rides and a historic town. Believe it or not the rides are good though and I have been on the best roller coasters in the USA. Kids totally loved it. It is spendier what it should be in my opinion but they did get to talk to Paul Bunyan!!

So fun. We went here last year and my son still asks how Paul Bunyan knew his name. There were so many things to do. There was a historic area that I would have explored more had the kids not been in tow. They lost interest after awhile, but loved the kiddie rides, the fun house, and of course, the gift shop, where we bought little Paul Bunyans that they cherish to this day.

Oh, what fun to see Paul Bunyan again, to hear him greet me by name! I've been a Paul Bunyan Land fan since the place opened in 1954. The rides are simple and pleasant, and the cost is a bit steep, but the ambiance is utterly delightful for all ages!

We took 3 boys, ages 3, 5, and 8. They all loved it! All boys could ride most rides and we did not have to wait in lines for anything! We went on a Wednesday. The staff were nice and friendly and would recommend for kids of all ages.

I get the admission fee, but was kinda high for whats available for rides. I suprisingly thought the pioneer village was more fun than the rest of it! I can see kids having fun here, but I think I might be a little too old for it, and the talking Paul Bunyan kinda creeped me out. But overall good time!

We brought our son here for the first time last Saturday. My son is 5 and has autism,
he is usually hesitant to try new things/places but he absolutely loved Paul Bunyan Land! Paul greeted my son by name, same as when I was young and came 30 years ago. It was a blast from the past and brought back so many fun memories of my youth. Every employee was friendly, courteous, and treated us like they genuinely appreciated our business which is wonderful and so rare! The rides were a blast. Food was great. Son loved Dippin’ Dots! Loved Pioneer Village and This Old Farm! Paul even spoke to me for a few minutes like I was the only one there. I LOVED the petting zoo!! Especially Petunia the potbellied pig! Hand washing station was great and only .25 cents for a handful of food to feed them. The park is set up perfectly in a circle with bathrooms at the front & center. Good prices. Clean! Will definitely return! Best venue in Brainerd for families hands down. Thanks Paul Bunyan Land!

What age would you recommend for Paul Bunyan Land? Would an older kid be bored?

Not sure how you define older - it is perfect for ages 4years to 12 or so. Our daughter loved the jumping thing - it is a trampoline like thing with a harness to big rubber straps- they also had a special event that weekend with small engines and black powder rifle demos. She was allowed to fire the rifle. It is definitely small time compared to major amusement parks. But we found it to be quaint and charming. When we returned to the area 5 years later our daughter wanted to go and re-live her childhood - so she went as a young adult. Good ice cream and the vintage photos are fun.

My parents took my brother and I to Paul Bunyan land for the first time in 1953. I was 4 and he was 2. The giant man made a big impression on us,especially when he knew us by name. As our family grew to 8 children, we couldn't afford to go there anymore, but I never forgot the giant Tall Paul. On occasion we would drive by the amusement park and us kids would wave to Tall Paul. We were so excited when he would wave back at us. When I married and had children, we again ventured back to the amusement park. I told my children the stories of Paul Bunyan that my dad had told us kids. They never tired of hearing those stories, and they would often carry on a conversation with Tall Paul, asking him about his adventures. Now my kids are all grown up and I would love to take my grandchildren to see Tall Paul. I am just so afraid that the magic will be gone for me now that he has been moved. I can only hope that I can instill that magic feeling into my grandbabies so they too can feel the awe and wonder of "Tall Paul".
