there are at least five convenient stores in Bali,namely Indomaret,Alfamart,Circle K,Delta Dewata and Mini Mart.i visited Mini Mart many times,the latest was last week when i visited Bali again.i went to Minimart at jl pantai kuta for shopping, i bought some bottled drinks here. though nothing happened to me,i suggest all travellers, after making transaction at any convenient stores in Bali, please ask for receipt.to avoid any possible scrams happened. also,please read the receipt carefully before you leave.

My fiancee and I bought some items from the Mini Mart store and we were nearly scammed of 30,000 IDR with their usual modus operandi of giving a total sum off screen. Fortunately, they returned us to amount after we requested for a receipt.
Additionally, the cashier told us the price has changed for an item we bought and placed a bogus price tag to mislead us. When queried on this missing item on the receipt, he claimed he couldn’t scan the price together with the rest of the items as it was a new price. He made us pay the additional premium for the item and it was all the more sickening when we compared the price against other marts.
Will be avoiding Mini Mart for good. I will give a zero if I could.

We are currently in Bali. The Mini mart in Seminyak near ginger moon we purchased shopping on 10th and notice we were charged for cigarettes on our receipt.
We don’t smoke, have never smoked, never purchased cigarettes. Went back and told them and they apologised and said it must have been from person in front of us. Fair call as it was the first item on our receipt.
Yesterday 11th went to Mini mart near bali ink in Kuta and after paying realised they charged us for 3 packets of cigarettes, once again apologised and said it must have been person in front of us.
Only problem was the guy in front only bought a pack of nappies and the cigarettes were the third item on our receipt. Not sure how he did it as we watched him scan our items. He then asked if we wanted our money back...no feel free to keep my money to fund your habit said no one ever!! He was indignant at the fact I wanted my money back.
Not a great feeling being taken for a ride twice in two days & I wonder how many people they rip off and how often they do this. Just be cautious and check what you are paying for!!

DO NOT walk out without a receipt, and double check your balance, this is a well known scam in mini marts around Bali, in fact, I just walked out of a mini mart having been ripped off of 15k, I just finished working out and didn’t have the energy to argue over a dollar, but I did call the cashier out as I realized what he was doing.. just really wanted to get it over with.

The mini marts are everywhere in Bali and you can honestly get anything and everything you need in there from water, to food, to sunscreen, and other supplies, as well as alcohol to quench your thirst while walking the streets.

We visited this mini mart on a couple of occasions to purchase drinks and snacks. The range is not extensive but adequate if you want to purchase drinks, snacks, toiletries or similar. Premises clean when we visited first week in August, prices clearly marked on shelves, no overcharging at the till and docket issued with our change. Staff were pleasant. Open 24/7.

Visited quite a few Mini Marts in Bali and without fail, they try to rip my husband and I off every time. They will either tell you the wrong total and/or give you the wrong change back.
My tip - calculate what you are buying before you get to checkout. Know the total. Pay close attention to the cash you are handing over. Count the change you get back.
Some of the prices ARE good which is why I have gone back time and again. I am now just much more careful.

Avoid this shop at all stages during your trip to Legian, we selected several items to purchase at which the prices where displayed then when it came time to pay the amount was different to what it should have been.
The staff member told us that the prices had changed when questioned, so we told her we no longer wanted them then she advised that the till added up wrong Bullcrap I say.
So we left all the items there and went to coco 24hr to get what we wanted.

Beware when traveling to Bali! The Balinese will rip you off whenever possible. They had 3 people at the counter monitoring my card transaction (at the time I didn't think anything of it). My transaction came to a sum of $8AUD but they said that my card didn't work so I stupidly paid cash. This couple pulled us aside afterwards and warned us that they take your card details. I checked my card transactions a little later and noticed that it had gone through. No doubt they have all my transaction details with that so called EFTPOS machine.
