New Hotel Guide The Wall Street Journal/WSJ.com - June 11, 2003
"One web site is taking hotels with the best deals and ranking them based on the caliber of reviews they've gotten from visitors.
TripAdvisor's new SmartDeals index scours online sites Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, Cheaptickets and Placestostay for hot rates, then picks up good and bad reviews of the properties from online guidebooks, newspapers and reviews submitted to TripAdvisor. It then ranks hotels based on quality and price -- listing the top in both areas.
TripAdvisor offers reviews and deals on more than 90,000 hotels in 800 cities world-wide. 'I use it,' says Tom Parsons, chief executive of BestFares.com. 'It helps you become streetwise in one central location.'"
