Greece is home to the most romantic hotel in the world, according to Trip Advisor’s latest Traveller's Choice awards -- well-timed with Valentine's Day next week.
Anastasis Apartments on the Greek island of Santorini topped the chart. Punters seemed to dig the view of the Aegean Sea from the hotel's infinity pool or outdoor Jacuzzi.
La Minerva in Capri, Italy, came second.
Perhaps more surprising were the results out of the United Kingdom -- six British hotels made it into the top 25. Among them is Cranleigh Boutique at the lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere. The hotel ranked third overall and costs as low as £85 (US$133) per night.
Cedar Manor Hotel and Restaurant in the neighboring area came fourth (rooms from £120 or US$188 per night). Both are in England.
Alchymist Residence Nosticova, a Gothic-style boutique hotel in Prague, came in at thirteenth (rooms from EUR175 or US$235). It has rooms named after royals and historical figures. According to the hotel's website, its most romantic room is the "Arcimboldo Junior Suite," named after the Prague-based Italian artist, Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
The Maldives dominated choices out of Asia, with five hotels in the chart.
