The Hardesty-Higgins House is an 1848 Georgian Greek Revival structure that was home to Harrisonburg's first mayor, Isaac Hardesty. Today, the Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center is on the National Register of Historic Places as part of revitalization of historic downtown Harrisonburg. Inside you will find Visitor Services, Rocktown Gift Shoppe, Mrs. Hardesty's Tea Room, the Valley Turnpike Museum, and the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Civil War Orientation Center. The Hardesty-Higgins House has become the place where history and hospitality meet.
