この教会は旧市街地のメインストリートのライヒス通りから十字架通りに入りその西端にあります。広大な建物と見事な庭はまるで宮殿のような印象です。教会の中には入れませんでした。

Unlike the Gothic Liebfrauenmünster the Church of the Holy cross is Baroque. The Church was built in the Baroque style under Abbot Amandus Rel from 1717 to 1720. It is part of a monastery that was very popular with pilgrims in the middle ages. The magnet attracting these tourists of the middle Ages were the relics of St. Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine I. She played a decisive role in the establishment of Christianity as the state religion of the Roman Empire. Pope Leo IX consecrated the monastery in 1049. This was tantamount to receiving world heritage status at the time. The Church is beautiful. Not Italian Baroque, of course. More modest, but still worthy of attention.

Beautiful baroque style church, iat the end of the road, off Reichsrasse str. Painted ceilings and golden statues etc , just awesome to find such a beautiful ancient church (it’s from the 15th century!) in this peaceful little town. Just shows how old and cultured Donauworth is !! Very peaceful and quiet . The small chapel in basement contains beautiful old paintings etc. a. A must visit !! It also has a small well kept cemetery which is very peaceful too!

Immersa nel verde, con un piccolo e curatissimo cimitero antistante l'ingresso principale, aprendo a fatica un grandissimo ed antichissimo portone in legno massiccio ed intarsiato, si entra in perfetto silenzio in questa bella chiesa in stile barocco-rococò. Si sente l'eco dei tuoi stessi passi in un'atmosfera mistica, specie quando scendendo alcuni gradini ti imbatti in un piccolo crocifisso incastonato nell'ostensorio e realizzato da un pezzetto della Croce sacra di Cristo. Contemplazione estatica nel silenzio più assoluto. Il business qui non esiste, nessuno ti chiede denaro anche perché il turismo è quasi inesistente. Merita una visita

haben bei der Stadtführung die Kirche besichtigt. Beeindruckend war der gute Zustand der Innenräume und die Erzählungen zum Kreuzpartikel und dem Schicksal der Jungen Frau, die dort bestattet liegt.

The location is a bit hidden. Walking to the western end of Reichstrasse to the Heilig-Kreuz-str and this church is at the end of the street. It is a big church with beautiful painted ceiling. The small chapel is at the basement. This church also has a small graveyard.
