Excellent cruise

What a great way to spend the afternoon, cruising down the Matakana River. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise, particularly the commentary by Phil our skipper. Would highly recommend the cruise. Will look forward to doing the return sandspit by kayak trip.

A delightful cruise from Matakana to Sandspit Basin and return.We were blessed with a glorious day and a very informative commentary by Phil our pilot.For those of a more adventurous disposition like my daughter and grandaughter there is the option to do the return from Sandspit by Kayak which they thought was fabulous despite getting "lost" up a tributary (all part of the fun)
Very highly recommended ,a must do if you are in the area.

Excellent cruise, a must do!

Awesome way to spend the morning. We really enjoyed the cruise, seeing parts of Matakana that you otherwise wouldn't see and hearing a bit of history. Highly recommend this experience and we definitely will do it again and do the kayaking next time! Thank you so much.

Matakana River Cruise

Very nice experience on a beautiful day
The kayak were nearly new as were the lifejackets all excellent condition
No problem's nice people

Absolutely brilliant !!

The Matakana River cruise is a must. Very professional and easy to book on-line. We really, really enjoyed the hour long cruise viewing the tranquil view along the way. We were impressed with the skipper and crew and their friendliness. Their boat handling was excellent and we could not find fault with any aspect of the trip.
We highly recommend this trip for all ages to enjoy the scenery. Well done Matakana River Tours

Phil's The Best !

Quite easy to book o n the internet. I had to move my trip twice due to the weather and traffic, but Phil came to the rescue and good-naturedly accommodated us , so we could go on the cruise after all ! Beautiful river - standing in the bow of the boat that Phil himself built, as it meanders amongst the lush mangrove forests and listening to the commentary on its history is a not-to-be-missed experience ! Keep an eye out for old Puriri trees - my daughter informs me that they look like "Demogorgons" from a popular TV series, tall stands of Kauri, Totara , Kowhai and Macrocarpa on the banks. Greater Cormorants swoop over the boat , while Stingrays may put in an appearence if you are lucky !

Interesting expirience in a beautiful location

Very beautiful location: nice and calm bay
A lot of information about oysters and easy to understand
Frendly skipper who made our trip fun and relaxed
So many oysters to try, we were absolutely full!
You can bring your wine with you

What a fabulous cruise this is! Well worth the cost as you get to completely over indulge in tasty, delicious oysters. If you are an oyster lover this is a must!
