・Oka, Asaka City, Saitama Prefecture. Touenji Temple is located about a 25-minute walk from Asaka Station on the Tobu Tojo Line.
・It's quite a distance to walk to, so I recommend visiting by car. There was something that looked like a parking lot nearby.
・The principal image of this temple is Yakushi Nyorai, and the sect is Shingon Buddhism Chizan-ha.
・To be honest, this temple made me think, "Asaka City is amazing..."
・In a word, it has an atmosphere like "Kyoto" or "Karuizawa villas." It's a different atmosphere from the surrounding environment of Asaka City, like a different space.
・It has such a wonderful atmosphere that if you're a local, you can feel like you're traveling just by taking a walk every day.
・When you pass through the mountain gate, there is the main hall and water house on the left, which has the atmosphere of a typical temple.
・And then, when you pass through the Fudomon gate on the right, you'll be in a different world.
・A bamboo forest spreads out before your eyes. And the autumn leaves are red like autumn. The sunlight filters through the gaps. "Eh? Is this Kyoto? A villa in Karuizawa??" I was caught by a strange feeling.
・The whole site is large, so it is an "enviable spot" for neighbors to take a walk while bathing in negative ions every day.

散歩の途中寄ってみた。庭は結構広く、歩きがいがある。といっても、大寺院のミニチュア版のしつらえか。平日夕方、静か。誰にも会わなかった。

山門の前には大きな仁王像が２体あり、風格を感じます。境内には本堂のほか、一夜塚や忠魂碑、鐘楼があり、とても落ち着いた雰囲気でした。境内右手の小さな門をくぐると、気持ちのいい竹林の道が続きます。境内と住宅地の区分がいまひとつわからないので途中で引き返しましたが、そのまま真っ直ぐ進むと、弘法大師が杖を突いて水を湧きだたせたという不動の滝に出たようです。
