Relaxing river retreat!

Lovely day on the waterways of Fenland took a leisurely trip to Benwick from March.
Thoughtful welcome pack including scrummy chocolate chip cookies, a Fox tote bag and tea- towels to dry up the china.

Youngsters were left speechless with seeing Kingfishers, fish, heron and dragonflies.

Gavin’s instructional tutorial was easy to follow, and we soon chugged down the NENE.
Thanks to Paula & team for a memorable day!

Boating on the Great Ouse.

Exploring the Great Ouse from the comfort of our Fox Narrowboats. Enjoyed the holiday from start to finish. The boat was well equipped and we were given excellent information on our on our handover. We were given a warm welcome and the sevice provided was excellent.

Great boating holiday

Great part of the waterway network!
Not many other boats around, so we felt we had the place to ourselves! Fox Narrowboats were really helpful and very friendly, the boat (Platinum Fox) had everything we needed for the week and was easy to handle. Finding a mooring could be difficult ( with being on a river you can’t just stop anywhere like on a canal!)
Luckily Fox narrowboats are GOBA members, so there was plenty of mooring available on the River great Ouse. All in, a great holiday and boating experience. Would highly recommend.

A great day boat hire experience

We hired March Explorer for a day and had an exceptionally nice time😊.
Among the special wildlife that we saw was a kingfisher and a bat skimming the surface of the river to take a drink at mid-day.
The company’s website has lots of useful information which helped us plan our day and this was backed up with practical advice and support on the day.
As owners of our own narrowboat (else where on the canals) we were able to appreciate just how well built and equipped the boat was and also how well maintained it was.
The friendly briefing and instruction were both informative and helpful, but nicely tailored to our experience level and likewise the very brief formalities on our return were equally efficient.
The only suggestion that we have is that depending on how well “upholstered” you are, you may wish to take a few cushions with you as understandably they have been removed at the moment due to Covid.

Great Staff Great boat Great holiday Great Ouse !

Me and my partner took my 13yr old son on a week long hire on the Rural Fox with Fox Narrowboats, which was fantastic the boat is well equipped and comfortable. everything you needed in the kitchen with a well thought out bathroom with a great shower, the heating was also excellent. we went to Ely and Downham Market which were very picturesque, The team at Fox Narrowboats were very friendly and helpful.
If you fancy a boating holiday and are thinking of booking then I can certainly recommend Fox Narrowboats :)

Day boat hire fantastic experience

We hired a day boat on two occasions over the covid period. Fox Narrowboats had made a number of adaptations to the way they run to ensure we felt safe and comfortable throughout the entirety of our day. Very organised and we had two wonderful days taking in two completely different routes (which were recommended by the fox team) we were instructed how to use the lock and drive the boat And had a wonderful day. My children (age 5 and 8) loved every second, spotting wildlife (which we saw in abundance) and even having a go at driving. Could not recommend highly enough for a wonderful day out with friends or family

Day boat hire

From the moment I emailed the fox team a few weeks prior to our visit to the end of a rather wet day cruise, the team at Fox narrowboats have been extremely helpful and friendly. We took a day boat with 6 adults and 3 children under 11 and three dogs we thoroughly enjoyed our day cruise even if the weather took a turn for the worse. The team even stored our disabled guests buggy in the shed so we did have to take it back to the car. Thanks for a great day making memories.

Fantastic day, fantastic staff, fantastic boats

This was our second day trip with Fox Narrowboats and again we were not disappointed. Very easy to book over the phone with the friendly and helpful reception staff.
When we arrived the staff were extremely professional concerning the covid guidelines and had measures and practices in place that made us all feel very at ease.
The boat was beautifully clean and well presented, after our tuition with the instructor we were off to spend another day on the water, and after going a different route this time we had a very relaxing and enjoyable day.

Can't recommend Fox Narrowboats enough. We will certainly be back.

Best day out ever! 📸

We came here for a full day out in August 2019. It was a lovely time and probably the best day I’ve ever had for a day out! The boats are lovely and not cramped at all. The front part of the boat was my fav. Where u could sit out on the benches with pillows provided and look out to the sea. There are also life jackets required that you can wear and emergency stuff in case u fall overboard. The kitchen is nice and when driving the boat it’s never uncomfortable and quite easy to drive. Kids can also have a go if the parent is with them. If u wanted to sit where the steering bit is you can sit on the 2 benches either side of the boat. (Very cosy everywhere). Overall this trip was one of the best and we can’t wait to do it in the summer. Very well done. 🥳👍🏻
