Pristine lakeside village

This village quietly tucked away in a small hill station at the foot hills is Kamarajar lake a pristine beauty where one can enjoy a long walk during the dawn and dusk. You can enjoy a trek up, angling, walking and fishing in a local boat.

Relaxing break

breathtaking view 360 degrees, tasty homely food without much masala. Even biriyani was mild and tasty. pool is pristine and temperature so pleasant. Very courteous staff, skilled to handle bigger group. lovely ambiance that keeps the group together.

The sadayandi Temple here is very famous. Church of our lady of assumption is located here is worth a visit. Kamarajar Lake is also located here. Needs a guide or a local person to guide you if you need to go to this village.

Small Village near Dindigul

Visited the Athoor Dam that is situated near the village. The dam is the source of water supply for the dindigul city. Visited in december 2015 after heavy rains and the water in the dam was full

Pongol celebrations in Athoor

This is a very ordinary village unused to seeing visitors so, for me, it special to find a place unspoiled by the influence of the west. We visited at the Pongol festival (harvest) and was fascinated to see the beautiful and many varied visuals chalked in from of each home. People were very proud of them and wanted their photos taken. My pleasure!

Authentic Village Life

Not a great deal to see but this provides an authentic example of village life in Tamil Nadu. An interesting temple and you may meet the local Brahmin priest if you are lucky - quite a character.

Beautiful Village to Stay

Athoor Villiage located near Dindigul is an excellent place to visit and stay in Resorts will make your holiday as a lifetime experience.

Morning Prayer at Shiva Temple, then visit the Village by Walk, have fun in the River, do a small trail / trekking.

Evening Visit the Church and spend time with the Villagers.

Night Stay in Wild Rock Resort and if the rooms are full you have other resorts located in the Village.

Enjoy your visit to Athoor Village along with your family for a fun filled holiday.
