Some fellow travellers mentioned this place when I took a boat trip saying how cool it was. I went to Sunset beach and saw it on the way there, it’s a little in the middle of nowhere but on the road going to and from Sunset Beach. I popped in on the way back. This place is brilliant! The barman, (Dooug) was amazing. He gave me these quizzes to do, like name the top five premiership football teams in the UK starting and ending with the same letter and the top ten countries starting with A and ending with A. Really good fun. And the drinks, well they are cheap and he gives you a lot of alcohol which is a first for many places on Koh Lipe! Great music, a nice cozy ambience and a real amazing find! You have to go there! It’s brilliant!

Efter en bra middag nånstans på ön så hamnar man här på stranden omgiven av hundratals marshaller. De blåser nästan alltid en ljummen bris vilket gör det myggfritt

Leuke bar waar je heerlijk kan relaxen. Op het strand liggen een soort matjes met kussen waar je kan genieten van de sterrenhemel en de vuurgooiers. Ze doen hier hun best om het je naar de zin te maken. Je wordt snel geholpen, het personeel is vriendelijk en de biertjes goed koud! Enige minpuntje is het toilet, die is niet zo heel fris.

El lababo da miedo. No tenía cadena ni papel higiénico. El suelo estaba mojado y sucio. El olor era como si no hubieran limpiado el lababo en la vida. Hay bares alrededor mucho mejor y limpios por el mismo precio, incluso más baratos.

We stumbled across this place after going for dinner one evening in Ko lipe, arrived just in time as the fire show was about to start and got a seat on the beach. The staff in this bar are amazing and looked after everyone really well, it started raining and they ran the mats and tables inside really quickly whilst everyone crammed into the bar. Ended up staying there inside until it closed and had such a fun evening drinking and chatting to people. Thank you to the staff in this bar for making our trip to Ko lipe so memorable.

So you want to start a ‘reggae’ bar? First assemble som rickety wooden furniture, paint them in reggae colours, call your drinks ‘Jamaica sunset’ and ‘reggae punch’ and then put a guy at the bar who’s sporting dreadlocks as a fashion statement. Now you really have a genuine root reggae bar? No! Reggae is not about taking all the popular songs from the worst boy band artists on the radio and remixing them into a supposedly reggae beat. It’s sounds crap and is like someone dancing on the grave of Haili Selassi.
I’ve been to loads of reggae bars in Brixton, Zanzibar, trenchtown, Belize and Trinidad, and just because you have a place on a beach, you don’t need to call it something it clearly isn’t.
The location at pattaya beach is nice, so if you just rename the place elevator music bar or Bob Marley bloodsuckers, you would be less offensive.

Locale situato sulla spiaggia principale dell’isola...ottimo per ‘aperitivo al tramonto, e per il dopo cena...ci si può tranquillamente stare sdraiati sulla spiaggia a godersi un cocktail e gustarsi gli spettacoli di fuoco eseguiti dai ragazzi del posto che ogni sera si divertono a fare proprio sulla spiaggia davanti al locale...bravi!!!

Appena di ritorno da una settimana da sogno nell'isola di Koh Lipe, non poteva mancare una nota di merito al Raggae Bar, il nostro punto di riferimento serale a musica Raggae, sulla spiaggia (la Pattaya Beach), a lume pressoché di candela. I ragazzi che lo gestiscono sono simpaticissimi. All'inizio danno un poco l'idea di essere diffidenti, ma se dimostri di non essere un rompiscatole, entrerai nelle loro grazie e ti faranno passare delle serate bellissime. Valido anche il fire show che i baristi, a turno, vanno a fare. L'arredamento del locale è molto particolare e richiama i classici bar sulla spiaggia dell'isola caraibica. Se si va a Koh Lipe, non si può non fare un salto in questo bar. Spero di ritornarci presto e di poter passare nuovamente serate in questo bar.
