My kids were taught to ski by Joe Abram at GoSnow last week.
Can't speak highly enough about his professionalism and warmness with the kids.
We did two days with him - and i went to to book another day and the kids insisted we book Joe again.
Thanks mate the kids are flying down the mountain now and love it.
Cheers,
Cam Stewart - Noosa Australia.

Very enjoyable time with GoSnow. We had Martin as our private ski instructor and he was excellent. Due to ski school not running, we had the entire family in a private lesson and Martin expertly tailored it to help the varying levels.
GoSnow get to access the priority lanes which helped save a lot of time.
Through emails and phone calls, the service team were very helpful and we would use them again.
I was worried about how to find my instructor, but the team are highly visible near the Hirafu Gondola and they were friendly when approached.

We were there close to end of season, didn’t prebook but no problem getting an instructor on the spot as it was low season. The staff were all friendly, check in was easy. My daughter had a private lesson with Karl as instructor and she had a wonderful time. She skied a few times before but was always in doubt of her skills. She was very excited after the lesson telling us how high she went. I am sure if she didn’t ski with an instructor, she will not be able to push herself out of the comfort zone.
I was happy that we made a choice of going to GoSnow for a lesson.

I had two private 3 hr lessons with Robbie Loades. I only skied once before and felt completely deflated about the sport because I was falling all the time. After 1 lesson, I was able to go down a green with ease. I was surprised when my bf said these were the worst conditions he had skied in (we went in late March) because I thought it was GREAT! That’s how much Robbie got me to love skiing. I’d recommend getting your rentals at GoSnow because my shoes felt tighter when I skied, so I could’ve swapped them out for a bigger size had I gotten my rentals at GoSnow than at my hotel
On the second day, I spooked myself out when I reached the top of a slope with my bf. When I tried to take the ski lift down (only gondolas can do this), the operator wouldn’t let me, which made me panic. Fortunately, my bf got Robbie, who went up the slope and calmed my fears. He helped me down the mountain and we had another 3 hr lesson. I gained so much confidence that I skied 2 more hours than the day before!
The price for an individual private lesson is steep, but I’ve done a group lesson at Tahoe before and didn’t progress one bit. That group lesson actually made me dislike skiing. I think you need to temper your expectations from the different lessons. Group lessons - perhaps better for ppl who don’t much guidance when starting a sport. You probably won’t get individualized attention because the instructors have a itinerary to follow and if you are the person who needs this to succeed, then get a private lesson. For me, I’d rather pay more to improve faster to ski with my friends/family than pay less and progress slower.
Can you ski from the gondola after 1 private lesson? Anecdotally, I wasn’t able to ski down the gondola or ski lift after one group lesson. After 1 private lesson, I was able to do the ski lift alone and I would’ve done the gondola alone if I didn’t spook myself out. So yes I think so.

Overall experience with Gosnow is wonderful, from booking to getting onsite for lesson. We met our first Ski instructor Karl Janion, who has been exceptional patient for stubborn beginners like me and my hubs. He is also very sharp and attentive to details and are able to pinpoint our mistakes and uses apt description which makes it easy for us to relate to and correct ourselves. We were then lucky to have Karl back in our 3rd lesson, in a wet weather, but it didn’t stop Karl to focus on each single one of us advancing and correcting our tactic to boast all our confidence as we build up this ski skill. Gosnow, you got to keep this gem instructor!
2nd day we had Viota as our instructor and initially i was a bit worried as we had Karl as our instructor before which is hard to beat our expectations. However, it turned out all amazing because Viota has his own method and technique which we could also relate to instantly and make adjustment to improve our ski.
We are so lucky to meet 2 such awesome trainers in this school so far.
We hope to see them when we are back next season again 😍

My daughter was a first ever skier, 5 years old. She had a couple of private lessons and several days in Ninja group lessons. The instructors were wonderful. Caring, patient, knowledgeable. They responded when she was teary or tired, encouraged her to rest, to have another try and made skiing fun. By the end of the week she was riding the chairlift and turning and stopping. She’s not a daredevil compared to other children and I was happily surprised by how much progress she made. Plus she loved it.
Go snow has great facilities with their magic carpets and childrens area to have breaks and lunch. Plus she made friends with the other children.
The staff were super responsive over email and phone plus in-person.
Couldn’t fault Go Snow and would strongly recommend.

Had a great snowboard instructor in Emma for 3 days. She was super patient and made even a rainy day (very rare in Niseko!) fun.

Different level of lesson you can choose, and you can join whatever level you feel comfortable☺️. The instructor (Nathan) was really good whom encouraged to practice in a different way as I can’t really get the skill under the normal way 😆and he kept practice with me and let me build the confident. I was so happy and excited that he took me to the chair lift and being so positive and encouraged that I was able to snowboarding down back to the bottom and so I did it 🎉

I enrolled 4 hrs private training for snowboarding, and this is my first time 😊. My instructor is Ruth, and being with her for 4 hours doesn't make me boring.
She is very good! Learn so many tricks, and she's patience enough to handle me as the beginner. What I like is she focuses on safety first and Always gives clear instructions, so I am confident enough to continue lessons with her.
Experience enrolling lessons with gosnow is a fast process.

Hi, I'm skiing with my family and one of my family members is not very keen on learning how to ski, will the family member be able to tag along with the rest of us during the lesson?

Dear cherylliu,
Thank you for your question and great to hear that you are making your way to Niseko.
For safety purposes, it is not possible to have a guest who is not on ski equipment join in with friends who are taking lessons. Your friend is more than welcome to watch you from the fence line surrounding the learning area and can join you at lunch time.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards;

Hi. Where is a good place to rent ski equipment if taking lessons from GoSnow- preferably a place that allows overnight storage and close to family base so as to avoid lugging equipment to group ski lessons
เขียนเมื่อ 25 กุมภาพันธ์ 2019
Sorry about the delay in answering. Rhythm is the place. You can pre-order all your rental gear on their website and they have 4 locations around Hirafu. We have just got back and used them again.

Does Grand Hirafu base store offer ski n snowboarding lesson ?
เขียนเมื่อ 22 มกราคม 2019
I don't think so. I think it is only a rental place. For lessons I recommend Niskeo Base Snow sports.

What is the total cost for adult group snowboarding or ski lesson ( 1 full day ) with full set gears rental and lift pass (it needed )
เขียนเมื่อ 20 มกราคม 2019
We paid 10,000 yen for the lesson, plus 7,400 for the all mountain lift pass plus around 5,200 for the ski & boots hire. So a total of 22,600 yen (around $290 AUD). Not cheap. It was a bit cheaper to hire the gear for a week, but usually not much saving on the lift pass or lessons.
เขียนเมื่อ 20 มกราคม 2019
¥40,000 is it the cost for per person under the adult 1st timer package?
เขียนเมื่อ 20 มกราคม 2019
Gear rental n Hirafu lift pass are included in adult 1st timer package

Hi there! How does the teen program work? I have skied before, but I am not sure if I am considered to be in the intermediate level. Will there be an assessment beforehand for us to be put in groups?

Hi Natanya A
Great to hear that you are interested in our Teen Program.
This is a fantastic product aimed towards skiers of an intermediate and advanced ability level. Each lesson begins with what we call a "safety lap" where lesson participants complete a short run on a simple slope and our instructors will assess skill levels to ensure that guests fit within the correct groups for their ability.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask!
We hope to see you here in Niseko soon.
Kind regards

Hi there... we plan to book a full day of lessons and I understand there is an hour break for lunch. Are there any reasonably priced eateries nearby? Given the limited time and us in our ski suits, I doubt we will have time to go far for a lunch break. What kind of prices will we be paying for a proper meal? Can anyone share your experience? Thank you.

Hi Maximum. From the Gondola Base you can easily get to An Dining in Ki Niseko (lunches are an average of 1,500 yen per person) or down to An Deli in Landmark View (where they serve bento sets for about 800 yen and some sandwiches etc).
There is a restaurant in the mountain centre too (next to the Gondola) but it is a bit more pricey.

I do find somewhere you can improve,
1) You change the coach EVERYDAY@@ so we spent a lot of time to make sure the level of each student.
2) Every coach has his/her different way to teach the same lessons, so we have to adapt ourselves to the new way, just like first day I attended the beginners class of snowboarding, the coach is a young man from Denmark, he didn’t teach toe/heel side falling leaf, he taught S turn directly. He insists to feel/follow our body, unfortunately, we, six students were fell down a lot and seriously@@ so in the afternoon, three students were gone. But the second day, in the same beginner class of snowboarding, the coach is an old man from USA, he taught the toe/heel side falling leaf and explained in detail!
3) I am a goofy and I find the coach of snowboarding for the adult are all regular. Perhaps all others students are regular too. So although I requested many times and many days, but all regular male coach didn’t explain/teach in goofy position. But others female coaches for the children or teenagers, they are goofy, so I had no alternative but to listen what they taught! I even complained about this in second day with the reception/front desk and leader coach who takes the iPad to check-in for every student, they all said it’s fine. Actually it’s NOT fine at all@@
By the way, I like a female skiing coach named Portia who is coming from UK very much, she taught/explained in detail for everyone on 2/19. May I have her full name? And I want to book the private lesson of her!!!

Dear Dearcat722,
Thank you for providing your feedback regarding your lesson experience with GoSnow. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your lesson experience with our instructor Portia McEwan. If you are to return to GoSnow I am sure that Portia would love to have you again for a private lesson.
Thank you for passing on your feedback regarding your snowboard instructors. While there is always a teaching methodology that instructors follow, each instructor also has their own individual way to communicate and skills to focus on. We do find that on occasions people appreciate having a variety of instructors for this reason as they can pick up a something different from each of the instructors to work on. I have passed this feedback on to the Adult Supervisor though to be sure to try and give some consistency to instructors where possible on our group programs.
We hope to see you again soon in Niseko and at GoSnow.
Kind regards,
Tareesa Straatmans
GoSnow Director

Is there anywhere that we can park our car near this Gondola Snowsports? I will be self driving in Hokkaido, and be driving from Greenleaf Niseko Village Hotel.

Hello Desmonds8
Yes you can drive your car all the way to the base of Gondola Snowsports, which is located at the Hirafu Mountain Center and Family Base this year. The Gondola Base has the most convenient parking, with our lessons being only a short 50m stroll from the carpark.
