Lots of car parks, maps, long and short walking routes. Dog friendly and good for a bike ride. Not all car parks have facilities.

The forest is a lovely place to walk, with dogs or children. Great on bikes too. Connaught Waters is lovely.

Not far out of town, you can even come on the tube. Interesting history and connections Epstein, T E Lawrence and lots more. Good selection of pubs around. Pleasant woodland, open areas and some wildlife. Fairly well kept. Enjoyable time.

It’s a properly huge space Epping Forest, fantastic tree-lined walking paths are everywhere, in fact it’s possible to lose your bearings quite easily, but as long as you listen out for road noise, you can pretty much work out where you are as a newbie (or check Googlemaps haha). There’s a bit of hill but it’s mainly flat, would be great for a run too.

I’ve lived in Chingford a few years now and I believe we take Epping forest for granted, it’s right on our doorstep and we never take the time to enjoy it the air is fresh there are some breathtaking views and a multitude of wild life. While worth an hour or two you’ll be glad you did we are

Epping Forest is a beautiful place and a wonderful survival. It has enough variety to provide interesting walking. The visitor centres have trails and are very interesting in themselves.

No better place to go on an adventure with small children for free. To mention all the places you can go in Epping Forest would take to long. Just go on your adventure and see what you can find.
A good place to start would be to go to the Queen Elizabeth hunting lodge have a look around then work your way into the forest. And on a Sunny day think about taking a picnic.
