Luogo storico che merita di essere visitato. Ci sono riferimenti all'uso che ne veniva fatto nei secoli passati e si gode di un'ottima vista sulla foresta.

Managed by incompetent self serving penny pinchers.
I have been visiting this Lodge since I was a child and I recently took my son there. Sadly I would not enter because Epping Forest have decided to start charging £5.00 per head, even for small children. With my elderly parents with us, I would have had to pay £20 for us to walk around a small Tudor house, which takes at most 10 minutes to cover. (Ive probably been around the lodge dozens of times in my life, but will never go again as long as this detestable group of people remain managing this historic landmark.
The strangle hold these unelected, over paid public servants are putting on the people of Essex has got to stop. Only last month they sneakily put parking meters in all of the muddy clearing in the forest that local residents and visitors have used for free to park their vehicles for the past century.
As long as Epping Forest have a policy to discriminate against the poorest in society and make enjoyment of nature and history an expensive elitist pastime, I advice people to boycott this monument.

Recommended piece of preserved Elizabethan history and architecture,well worth a visit during your day out in Epping forest with beautiful views over the forest and it's free entry with a museum next door

This is an interesting place to visit, nicely interpreted with good artefacts and great views of the forest.

We have been visiting the Queen Elizabeth hunting lodge for tens of years with then our young son now 20.
They organise lots of events throughout the year with historical facts in mind. And the building brings with the staff the past to life.

Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge, within Epping Forest, is a must for those who love history (especially the Tudors) and can't afford to pay too much (entry is free). This lodge, which is accessible by bus and overground train, spans three floors (please note, it didn't appear to have any lift access. Visitors go up and down a couple flights of stairs).
The assistant that worked there was amazing, with her providing helpful hints as to what to look out for and a fact sheet (providing extra information). This included looking at the differences between the 'simpler' servants quarters to the more elaborate quarters of the 'higher ranks.'
When I was about to leave, this assistant was able to provide more information about the house, including the type of wood used to construct it and the foundations (or lack of). I was very impressed with her knowledge and enthusiasm about the building.
There were a couple of child friendly spots, including a dress up area. However, I think the adults would better appreciate the history of the building.

We recently visited the Hunting Lodge with our kids over half term and it was a lovely afternoon out. Weather stayed dry for us and we had a nice lunch in the pub next door. Will be visiting again soon.

Step inside and you will find a banquet set out on a large oak table complete with a boar’s head, roasted game birds, loaves of bread and fruits of the forest. An Inglenook fireplace with logs aglow!
Look out through the leaded light windows across the meadow to the forest beyond. Spot the two deer grazing on the lawn.Climb up the oak staircase to large rooms with views out across the surrounding countryside. We were privileged to rehearse for The Giant Performance held under the old oak trees. Singing there was a magical experience and one could only wonder what it must have been like to hear minstrels entertaining Queen Elizabeth I and her courtiers after a hunt.

Stopped off halfway through walk with our dog 🐾 & granddaughter for breakfast, tasty food & coffee, I’m vegan & they had non dairy milk & a small option for choice. Very tasty. Lots of room to sit inside & out
