I had a private surfing lesson with Wayan and it was absolutely brilliant! I'm a beginner and he explained it really well. It was also really funny. I can only recommend it!!! 😃

From start to finish it was a great afternoon, picked up at our villa, headed out on a traditional Balinese fishing boat and did a mixture of trawling jigging and bottom fishing. We were lucky enough to catch enough for a generous BBQ at the end. Wayan and his brother are great people, friendly helpful and come from a long line of fishermen so know what they are doing. Afterwards we cooked up the fish Balinese BBQ style to round off a memorable day

As authentic as it can be. Fish with the local fisherman who are all very friendly and always offer you a smile. Then Wayan will take you to his home where you will cook your fish over a home BBQ and share a meal with his family while you learn about balanese traditions.

After a relatively short night, the alarm clock rings tirelessly. Oh God it's 5 o'clock. Stand up! It's still dark. Fishing is popular today. Booked at Bali outdoors. With a freshly brewed cup of Bali Coffee and a handful of water, I wish the sleep off my face. Now it's better, the day can come. Wayan is already awake and was preparing the cooler bag. We set off at a quarter past six, we drive to the landing bay in Seseh. (Directly behind the former Seseh Sunset Bar and just before the entrance to Warung Alus Garden). The boats are already waiting. The sun is already smiling on the horizon and bathes the morning in warm light. Wayan's brothers Nyoman and Ketut are just arriving to finally get the boats afloat. The outboard motor is hooked up and refueled. Cooler bag, fishing rods are secured. Cell phones packed and stowed watertight. The final preparations are being made. We are still waiting for two guests. The warm water of the Indian Ocean washes around my feet, the boats are placed on a kind of trolley. The guests (Damian US) and Shawn from S'pore) have arrived. In the meantime, more helpers have jojned to launch the boats. Ready to go. The boats are pushed into the incoming waves with momentum. With the command “Jump” you sit on the edge of the boat and the outboard motor howls.
Nyoman steers the boat out to sea at full power. Hold onto. It's time to wake up, water is coming from all sides - the boat struggles easily over the incoming waves. After about 10 minutes we reached the first fishing spot. Nyoman knows the spots like the back of his hand. A brief introduction to how the fishing rod works, then off we go. It doesn't take long before Damian has his first catch on the leash. Shortly afterwards Nyoman catches the second fish. We continue to the next spot along the Balinese south coast. Passing Tana Lot, the breathtaking beauty of the Agung appears to the right and, with the mountain range in between, the Batu Karu at the left. Unique! Second fishing spot reached, fishing out. Suddenly, after about 5 minutes, there is a strong pull on the fishing rod. What is that? Wayan and Damian slowly pull the line. Suddenly this seems to be easier. The caught fish (golden travelly) appears on the surface, I support with the net. Great catch. Upon further inspection, we discovered that part of the line had been bitten off, which explained the easier pull up of the fish. Wayan suspected a barracuda. On the neighboring boat, Shawn and ketut were also successful and were able to shine with a cobia caught. This species of fish comes from Australian waters. Now on to the next spot about 500 m away, although I have difficulty estimating distances from the water. The sea is as smooth as glass and the sun is on its way to reaching its highest point. Driven by the success of the catch, we move on to the next spot. There Damain is lucky again and catches a white snapper. Nyoman catches a barracuda (was it the one that bit off the leash before - we don't know) The agreed time is slowly running out. After a short celebration of our success with a chilled Bintang beer, we start the return journey and reach the landing point after about 20 minutes. We hit the beach with force. Now the boat has to be pushed into the parking position using combined forces. This was easy to do as more helpers were already waiting for us. Now the trophies were documented with a nice group photo. The mission of Bali Outdoor is: "from Ocean to Table". According to this motto, the catch was brought to the Sukerta brothers' parents' house in Seseh. After a quick shower and freshening up, the barbecue grill is already waiting there. Wayan professionally dissected the fish and Nyoman took care of the required heat. The fish were now clamped into a grid and grilled on coconut shells. Insane fish buffet, freshly caught and freshly grilled. A delicious treat. The cobia tastes best with rice and vegetables, although the barracuda is also characterized by its firm meat. After a good conversation over dinner, the great fishing event ends. Thanks to Wayan, Nyoman and Ketut for this great day, which I, and I'm sure the other guests too, will look back on fondly. We really enjoyed the bicycle tour with Wayan. From the first moment we had a lot of fun. Thanks to his great sense of humor. We also learned a lot about Balinese culture, especially where he lives and his community. We are very impressed with his implication of making the place more sustainable and ecological. It feels like we have known him for a long time. We really recommend this tour.
Thank you Wayan!

Our fishing trip with Wayan was an unforgettable experience. Wayan's authenticity truly stood out as he not only took us fishing but also immersed us in Balinese culture.
He shared with us his knowledge about local customs and traditions, and he was happy to answer all our questions. Wayan patiently taught us the art of fishing, and we were amazed at how much we learned from him. We ended up catching a lot of fish, which was incredibly rewarding.
What made this trip even more special was when Wayan invited us into his home. We felt very welcomed and comfortable. Together, we cooked the fish we had caught, and Wayan showcased his culinary skills by preparing other amazing dishes as well. We left his home full, happy, and completely satisfied.
This fishing trip with Wayan was not just about catching fish; it was about connecting with the local culture, experiencing the warmth and hospitality of Bali, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. It was an authentic and enriching adventure that we'll always cherish.

Bali outdoor as surf coach give me great exp in surfing. know whats the best wave will fit with his client. Since 2021 bali outdoor makes good surf trips for me. At 2021 im afraid with the sea right now im become wave runner and missing bali exp in surfing all the time. He is a good companion to upgrade your skill cause he will give you a tips n trick not only at the sea but activities on land that you have to learn like work out, doing push up, squat for your stance above the board.
The activities after the surfing like reviewing, chit chat and grilling the fish (cause you will hungry after surf) bring you to a new family in bali. I recommend bali outdoor to bring fun exp that you wont forgot.
Thx wayan!!

We had a great time biking through the rice fields with Wayan. He is a really great and relaxed guide, told us a lot about the local life and showed us really special places. He and his nephew looked after everyone in the group and where considerate about everyone’s individual needs.
Especially the end of the tour with an amazing view over the sea really touched us.
Would recommend for sure!
