Well , a good mix for all ages in general.
The train ride was fab, lovely garden views, also glimpses of the coastline
Toilet facilities acceptable
The lovely Pulman coach was open for viewing only- it's beautiful but no food or drink available.
However, the exhibition area felt tired ,& faded, in parts. The exhibit where you could shut the room light off , then allowed the exhibit lights to go on, was interesting & felt more modern.
If you want our youngsters to engage more, please update the exhibits & maybe consider more colourful up to date exhibits.
The outside of the building could also do with a lick of paint .
Just suggestions of course.
It was worth the visit, just not sure that I would visit a second time ..

I did the Steam Engine Driver Experience and the family tagged along. They enjoyed the gardens, mini golf, model exhibition and a truly excellent pizza from The Junction cafe while I learned how to drive a miniature steam loco. Pecorama is a brilliant day out for kids of all ages!

Mainly a place to take children but we went as it was recommended. The ride on the train was nice. The gardens very well presented. The views are fantastic being so high up on the hill. The Peco train layouts were good. Better to go with children as there are play areas for them as well as the train rides. Bit boring for adults otherwise.

We had such a wonderful time here. It was well worth the money. Our grandson was celebrating his 2nd birthday and the train rides (second was free as not many visitors 😀) were marvellous. It was a long interesting route snaking around the gardens which were in full colour even at this time of year. The staff were lovely and made our grandson feel very special. His excitement level was off the scale with "wow" constantly. It was the same when we viewed the model railway layouts which were exquisite. There was even a tiny duck in one of the scenes who moved around a pond, and a miniature digger busy as trains dashed round the tracks. The old Pullman carriage was interesting too and we ate our picnic in a large marquee where there were games for children. The train themed playground was also a great hit. Thank you for a truly great experience. Just a visit to the beautiful gardens and to watch the joy on children's faces as they enjoy the train ride would be worth the entry fee. The toilets were spotless. We didn't buy food but could have and we would have had a view out to sea from the outdoor tables. Thank you to all who ensure that Pecorama continues. We brought our sons here about 35 years ago so it was special to return with one of those sons and his son.

We took our grandchildren about 10 years ago and enjoyed our visit. I think our visit that time was made better by our grandchildren's enjoyment. The site is hilly and tough on less able visitors. They could also do with more seating for the train queue. The views are good and the gardens are pretty but tbh it's pretty boring for adults

Had a lovely visiting Pecorama. As a keen model railway enthusiast, the opportunity to visit a site thats home to the UK's main model railway manufacturers was too good an opportunity to miss. Set on the hills above the fishing village of Beer, the site boasts stunning views of the South Devon coastline, as well as a delightful garden railway covering the site. The Peco Museum showcases the history of the company, as well as number of model railways used by brand to promote new products. Also on site is a well stocked model railway shop, catering for all scales of railway modelling.

The views are stunning from here ,looking out to the sea and down over Beer. We went into the model railway exhibition, which was very interesting to see. The train ride in the gardens was fun and so much too see along the ride. The plants and the design of the garden were breathtaking, this coming from a person who does not do gardening!! The walks are lovely and the sculptures. Attention to detail is shown throughout the gardens, well worth a visit

This is really three distinctly different experiences all on one site and as a result is a trip with something for everyone in a party of mixed interests.
The first to mention is the ride-on miniature railway. As such things go this is a decidedly superior opportunity because it’s a long track and covers bridges, cuttings, embankments and a tunnel long enough to have passengers in proper darkness (so many other places have a “tunnel” that’s really noting more than a rather wide bridge). The track runs through a number of pleasingly varied stations and halts and on one particularly scenic bend reveals a stunning view of Beer Heights and the ocean beyond, stretching to the horizon. All in all this is probably a couple of miles ride, sometimes doubling back on itself.
The second aspect is the gardens through which the train actually runs. These are a delight in and of themselves and would give any keen gardeners much entertainment even if they could not give a hoot about trains. They are absolutely meticulously maintained - I literally saw not a single weed. There are some unusual, striking and hard-to grow specimens and the landscaped gardens have water features, slopes, and bridges (with trains running under them, of course). There are two good cafés with pizza, cream teas and the like.
The third aspect is indoors and relates to model railways. In the middle of the site - although unobtrusively so - is a factory making model railway components and there is an associated shop and exhibition centre featuring example layouts for a variety of domestic settings (loft, basement, bedroom, cupboard top etc.) These have a certain ‘small world’ charm even for non-modellers and one features “nightfall” every six minutes whereby the lights dim, the stars come out and in the model diorama the streetlights illuminate and the windows on the houses light up. Some of the model trains can be activated by the observer pushing a button.
Just outside this exhibition is a restored Pullman dining car from 1950 and seeing the plush luxury and discreet charm of Standard dining and the positive opulence of First Class dining in the fifties brings tears to the eyes of anyone who has done King’s Cross to Edinburgh and had a paper cup of tea-flavoured liquid and a microwaved Ginsters presented to them as the railway ‘dining’ experience.
All in all, then, this has something for more or less everyone in a mixed family group.

THEY have a few outlets. I have only ever had a cream tea in the Pullman carriage.
Beer is only a few minutes away and have lots of lovely cafes and restaurants.
Why is there nothing on web site saying the exhibition and toilet are closed
