My wife and I were very excited at the prospect of visiting Eden as we had planned to do so for years. Sadly, it turned out to be a very expensive disappointment.
In mid-January, many of the attractions were closed, walkways shut off and the entire place had an air of being run down and neglected.
The outside gardens had largely been cut back and there was little to see. Some areas were bare earth and there were plenty of very English weeds amongst the so-called foreign gardens. Some of the statues were interesting, but they too seemed neglected - sometimes at an odd angle, or with bits hanging off them. A marble statue of a women that was supposed to be a water jet did not work.
The famed bio-domes were the biggest let down. The tropical dome was anything but tropical and we didn't even take our coats off. Apparently the heating was subject to routine maintenance. The Mediterranean dome was positively chilly. I had hoped that these domes would give a feeling of being in a foreign place, but with the wide asphalt footpaths, regular info-boards and various tacky displays, it all felt very artificial. For example, there was a display of African plant foods which consisted of plastic reproductions of various beans. Some had a layer of dust on them. Would it have been so hard to display real beans?
For some bizarre reason, in the Mediterranean zone, a clinical psychologist was doing a live interview and heavily promoting her new book. I came for relaxation and entertainment, not to hear loud speakers droning on about anxiety, depression and suicide. Who thought that was appropriate at a family entertainment centre?
The catering was shameful. We wanted to eat in the café at the entrance. The only vegan option was a bowl of soup and even then they could not provide non-dairy spread so we had dry bread. The soup was so loaded with pepper I left most of it. Later we ate in the main café which had the ambiance of an industrial canteen. Even though it was January, there were long queues for everything. Two lattes with two small uninspiring pieces of cake cost over £14. We had to pay an additional 40p to get oat milk. Considering the Eden project is supposed to be promoting ethics and the environment this was shocking - they should be encouraging plant-based foods rather than making people pay extra for them. They seemed to be paying lip service to their so-called environmental credentials.
There were some genuine 'wow' moments, such as the huge statue that blew smoke rings, but it was not nearly enough to counter the feeling of 'meh'.
Had we paid £10 a ticket we would have come away mildly dissatisfied, but since the entry fee was £32.50 per person, we feel totally ripped off.
Compare this with RHS Rosemoor which we visited recently. We had an entire afternoon strolling around beautiful and varied gardens. There was an art exhibition and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Nobody was pressurising us to buy a guide book for £6. In fact they gave us a free map of the site. Entry fee was £14.25 which is under half the price of entry to Eden.
The more I think about it, the more Eden feels like an attempt to extract maximum cash for minimum effort. We shall not return anytime soon. Such a missed opportunity.

Biomes feeling neglected. Corporate events are clearly more important to Eden than regular paying customers. Overpriced. Everything is under construction or closed. Ice skating is unsafe with many 'pro' skaters shoved onto overcrowded ice with children and learners. People trying to do elaborate tricks and spins whilst dodging children who are falling over every 5 seconds. Poor management. Lack of staff on site. No immersive or interactive exhibits, and the exhibits that are meant to be interactive are broken, don't work properly, or are replaced with yet another sign. Food hall was the only good part, it had clean toilets and amazing staff. Not going to visit again until Eden shows a sign that they're not just relying on the 15+ year old biomes that switch the same old tired props and signs around every few weeks.

Was an amazing visit.

Having the weather on our side that it was dry means we could enjoy all of the outside areas. Although a lot of the outdoor gardens were out of season as such, the art work and attention to detail throughout the grounds Is amazing

We spend just over 3 hours there with a coffee break and walked just over 3 miles.

Going out of season was perfect.

My only downside was that the waterfall wasn’t on and that would of been perfect to see.

I live in St Austell and thankfully usually come to the Eden Project when they give out their locals weekends. My partner and I came for a Sunday and walked through both the biomes. We stopped and had coffee and cake in the cafe between the biomes. I would recommend coming here and spending the day!

We visited Eden for the first time since a visit way back when it opened years ago.

If you haven’t been before you can expect a massive area mainly covered in car parks and zig zaggy walks down towards the geodesic domes situated at the base of what was a quarry.
Inside one dome is a rainforest environment and the other is more low growing Mediterranean plants.
The rainforest dome was much colder than it usually is The plants are nice also some tropical birds. It’s very humid and there’s a bit of a sense of mould and moss. Some of the interior of the dome looks quite tired and discolored nowadays , the signs have dirt on and are in need of a good old wash all round.
That’s the general feeling I got.
The Mediterranean dome is actually very cold when the sun isn’t out.
The environmental message is pretty much hammered at you at every turn too. I am an environmentalist but it can get too much.

I think the winter price of over £32 is too expensive as the visit simply isn’t worth the money.
I would say somewhere around half that would be fair. They also make money from the cafes and merchandise.

Being local have visited a lot since Eden was opened unfortunately this will be our last visit.Xmas 2021 was bad but I put that down to just coming out of covid but this year 2022 was even worse.it used to be a lovely place to visit especially at Christmas but the effort is no longer being put in.right from the entrance it looked drab so many missed opportunities to make it feel Christmassy. You cannot just put a few lights in the biomes and call it a Christmas event, even where Santa was looked uninviting.no land train again this year you used to cover it in lights at Christmas(the tractor train) the grandchildren loved it but you longer even use it.come on Eden put some effort in, this was by far the worst Christmas experience event I have been to!!

On the walk from the car park to the ticket barriers we saw a number of signs advertising annual passes, expecting to find a single entry charge at least at the entrance we were disappointed. You can only buy annual passes! £65 for two adults when I suspect the majority only visit once is ridiculous. Having visited before, when prices were more reasonable, we declined and left. Is it a good place to visit, a cautious yes at least once, but certainly not with the current pricing structure.

Unfortunately agree with other reviewers that Eden Project has become overpriced and really bad value for the experience offered and doesn't get close to it's overall objectives to help educate people.

Firstly, the online booking process is buggy and difficult to follow especially on a mobile phone.

Next is price, £87 for a family of 4. I appreciate this is a year pass but we live in Essex and unlikely we'll be in Cornwall again this year so that's a rip off to start with.

For £87 you expect to have a good experience but this wasn't the case. BTW. an annual RHS joint membership is £70 which gets a family of 4 into loads of different places across the country.

So the experience (or lack of):
1. arrived in heavy rain and led to a car park far away from the reception. Why? nearer carparks were empty?!?
2. signage around the site is non existent
3. welcome area. person scanned my phone and that was it. no welcome or guidance and we didn't have a clue where to go. Again no signage
4. out into the rain again and another soaking trying to find out how to get to the biomes. ended up in the core place... no staff anywhere... so confused as to what this was all about.... no linkage to the biomes. had to go around the site again
5. finally got to the biomes,, more soaked. med area is still growing and not really that great to be honest. nothing of interest really or any interaction for the kids
6. the rainforest is great and still has the wow factor but loads of places blocked off and looking tired. minimal staff interaction again

basically we spent under 3 hours there for £87. Only one member of staff interacted with us (and that was by luck).

there was nothing to try and get the kids interested.

I will share my membership with others as I'm very disappointed and I'd say there's much better things to do unfortunately

Lucky to have this on our doorstep. Have visited many times and love how it changes with the seasons. The lights at Christmas are truly amazing. The Eden sessions are good value and well organised. All in all it is a wonderful place to visit. There is something for every one.
