Visitado para disfrutar de un concierto tributo al grupo Queen ofrecido por tres violines y un violonchelo. El espectáculo fué genial y los músicos maravillosos, ya que hacían que los violines casi hablaran. Magnífica experiencia. La decoración de la sala sólamente iluminada con velas fué otro acierto de la organización.

Good impression of how life was for gladiators in the Roman empire.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but enjoyed the visit very much. Very informative about the history of Alicante going right back to prehistoric times. There was a special exhibit on Roman gladiators which was also interesting. Maybe not for very young children, but interesting for the older ones. Very atmospheric.

Realmente muy bonito, muy cuidado y personal muy competente. Hemos encontrado alguna dificultad para ir en silla de ruedas, pero en general bastante salvables. Me sorprendió la poca gente, pero eso nos vino de maravillas.

Thematic exhibitions are great but permanent exhibition of the museum is nothing special. Thematic exhibition witch I visited was about gladiators. Also the building of museum is remarkable.

Beautiful museum, we came for the gladiator exposition and it was definitely worth it! All text was also available in English, and there were multiple interactive elements in the museum (touch screens, sound and movies), which also makes it fun for children. It is a fairly big exposition with multiple halls, which provide much information on each topic. The light and atmosphere was also good, but some sounds were distracting or annoying, as they were constantly repeated. The toilets were very big and clean, and the small restaurant on the other side left us with some good food. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in (Roman) history !

Visited the MARQ museum in conjunction with Tossal de Manises - €2.50 for a combined ticket. The MARQ museum had a 6m temporary exhibition on Amphitheatres & Gladiators until Oct 2022. Very well set out and took about an hour and a half to walk through. We popped our heads around the doorways of some of the permanent displays, like the shipwreck and the development of Alicante - which looked excellent, but those will have to wait until our next visit. We parked at the Plaza Mar2 shopping mall, and walked over - about a 10min stroll. They don’t allow you to take food or drink in, but there were others that had bottles of water discreetly hidden in a handbag, and they let us tuck a bottle into the pocket of our shorts! I suppose it depends on who’s on the desk on the day!
Tossal de Manises (Roman ruins excavation site) was also a great site nearby (10 minute drive) to spend an hour or so at - but very hot at this time of year. We’ll definitely be going back to both.

Visitar Alicante y no ir al MARQ es un pecado!!
Si no el mejor, está en el top 3 de museos de Arqueología de España sin duda.

¿ a quien se le ha ocurrido la brillante idea de tener cerrado el museo de 14 a 18 horas en plena época de afluencia turística? ¿ y qué razones le han llevado a esa mente maravillosa a planificar esa castración horaria? ¿ saben ustedes que en museos del tercer mundo no se cierran los museos en todo el día, incluso en países tercermundistas?

Es incomprensible que cierren un museo de esa categoría para irse a comer, lo lógico es que hayan turnos para mantenerlo abierto todo el día y con más razón todavía en plena época de verano que es cuando más turistas y visitantes recibe MARQ
