Eighty Days created a personalized 10 day itinerary for our group of 4. We visited Tokyo, Hakone, Ine, and Kyoto. They picked out some of the best sites based on our interests. They also meticulously coordinated all the details for our wedding elopement that happened right in the middle of our trip. They scouted the site for photos, coordinated with our elopement photographer, hired a make up artist, arranged for a bouquet and eyelash extensions, navigated visas and Covid requirements, and managed the logistics of sending our bags ahead of us to each destination. Every comfort and detail was accounted for. They reserved spots at the most amazing restaurants for us, each meal they planned was a lovely surprise. The pace of the trip was great considering our group consisted of ages 30-35 and 65+, they did a great job of balancing that. Our guides Giulia and Yuri were very informative, I learned more about the sites we visited in the few days with them than when I've visited Japan on my own. It was also a relief that they helped us navigate transportation and the language barrier, it's much easier than stumbling through with Google translate. On my wedding day they helped me get ready and brought cake and sake to celebrate! After the trip, we kept saying how we couldn't believe how smoothly the trip went, but we knew it was because of all the planning Eighty Days put into it. Lea and Nanami spent time on Zoom calls with us, they really listened to what we wanted for our trip, and they always responded to emails within a timely manner, typically 24 hours. They planned the whole trip within two months to fit our tight timeline (sorry!), and worked with us within our budget. There weren't any surprise costs, they checked with us in advance if we wanted any add ons and I never felt pressured to go outside what was comfortable for my budget. I really trust this company, and if you want to get the most out of your trip to Japan, they'll give you a great experience!

Our 12 day trip was curated by Jennifer. She was responsive, organized and offered alternatives when things we wanted to do were booked. She greeted us at our hotel at the start of the trip, labeled every train ticket so we knew where we were sitting and even met us at the train station on the way to the airport to insure that we would not get lost on our way home. She was a pleasure to work with in every way. We will definitely be working with her again. We also enjoyed our time with David who was an enthusiastic and thoughtful guide. He was also willing to tailor our experience given the weather and our interests.

We just came back from 10 days in Japan with Eighty Days Japan making the arrangements for our family. Thanks to the excellent planning by Jennifer and the great tours and insight of Guilia and Yano who were wonderful, thoughtful and attentive guides.

We had the most amazing time in Japan! Nanami, our guide Dave, and Eighty Days Japan created an itinerary we could not have planned on our own. They curated experiences that made us learn more and deeply appreciate Japanese life, history, culture, philosophy, and people. They made reservations at restaurants that only locals would know and enabled us to enjoy a variety of cuisines Japan is world-famous for. Every night, we were regaled to a delightful and satiating dinner course eleganty prepared and presented.
We are grateful to Nanami and Eighty Days Japan for a wonderfully designed trip, hospitable treatment, and kind assistance.

I am incredibly grateful for Nanami and her team of dedicated and knowledgable staff. When we thought we were not able to travel due to some temporary visa restrictions, Eighty Days Japan went above and beyond to help us navigate the visa process so that we could travel to my wife’s country of birth.
Upon arrival in Japan, we were given “red carpet” treatment, our tour guides were professional, patient, and relatable. They accommodated our requests but would make recommendations for tweaking our itinerary based on their own personal experiences and knowledge of the country and the culture.
If you are looking for a Japanese travel agency, please consider Eighty Days - they will treat you well and make you wish you could stay longer.

This was one of the best tours I’ve ever joined in Japan. They promise an authentic experience where you can meet with katana artisans and they deliver.
I got to visit the workshop of a katana smith, a polisher, and a habaki maker. It was private and I got to ask them a bunch of questions. They explained me their craft and showed me their technique. It was amazing.
Every artisan’s shop is tucked away in some residential area and it’d impossible to reach without the guide’s help (not to mention you couldn’t read walk into there without an invitation).
This tour really allows you to know Seki in all its blacksmith’s splendor.
I also got to try iaido and cut some tatami rolls with a real katana, which was cool.
If you’re not on a tight budget, I highly recommend you join this tour.

We had a day tour of Tokyo with Ciara - she told us so much about Tokyo & was happy to adjust to the requests from our group of 5. We had the most amazing day & she gave us so many tips for additional places to visit whilst in Tokyo & Kyoto. Ciara was also able to help us with changes to our tour in Kyoto as it was through the same company. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely be using them next time we come to Japan for some 'off the beaten path' travels.

We just completed a 4-day tour of Hiroshima, Saga, Nagasaki, Miyajima and Yanagawa with our wonderful tour guide Ciara. Our visit allow us to see beauty and get a deeper understanding of the tragedy in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Our guide bypassed all expectations as she is incredibly knowledgeable of Japan history and conveys it with passion and a special flare! At the ceremonial sites she gave us time to digest, in the other sites she made us laugh and find the perfect photo opps! But that was not everything, the planning process with Nanami was really good, she understood what we wanted and the type of travelers we are. She responded fast and even took care of making sure hotels and restaurants catered to my husband gluten free diet! We highly recommend them and hope to come back to Japan to see some sites they recommended! #arigatai

We have friends who live in Japan who recommended this group for our joint vacation tour. Our friends told us it would be immersive and non-touristy.
It was, as my wife puts it, the vacation of a lifetime. Everyone we met, from the staff member who greeted us at Tokyo Station to the drivers and guides we met along the way was simply outstanding.
Never would I have thought to tour a flatware factory or an abandoned temple or to ride electric bikes through the sake rice fields, but that's what we did.
And we'll do it all again one day.
Don't expect 5 star American style hotels, instead, expect 5 star ryokans, exotic meals and fantasy views.
My wife commented that it felt like we were living in a James Bond movie. Without the villains.
Just go. You'll love it.

Just spent 4 days in Gifu Prefecture with 80 Days and my fabulous guide Ciara Blount on a Journey into the Art of Katana. It was so well organised and I had access into the homes and workshops of the master Craftsmen to get a really good understanding of the life and times of the Samurai warriors. At no stage did I ever feel rushed, in fact, I felt that I was the centre of attention everywhere we went. I got to use the Katana at an event that was arranged for me. !
But it was not all about the Samurai...We visited the Tokugawa Art Museum and the oldest standing castle in Japan, the Inuyama Castle, Monet's Pond, and we spent a wonderful night in Mino and went round all its amazing shops. I had a Meditation Session with a gentle Buddhist Monk.
The accommodation was great, the food was sublime, and the people in the rural area are so welcoming. Thanks 80 Days and Ciara !!
Definitely, a Must-Do if you come to Japan. This is a quality Tour put together by a professional group of people
