The best shore excursion experience

With Nigel's private tour, we have been able to Cruise on Loch Ness to arrive at Urquhart Castle, A stunning scenic drive over the Highlands, and visit Dunrobin Castle, Gardens and the Falconry Display at one day. It's amazing...
Even we have got taste of Scottish whiskey.

Wir sind mit der AIDA nach Invergordon gereist und haben einen Tagestrip als Familie mit zwei Kindern gebucht. Vorab haben wir unsere Wünsche für die Route mit Nigel per Email besprochen und er gab uns auch weitere wertvolle Tipps für unseren Tag. Treffpunkt war direkt am Hafenterminal. Da das Wetter wechselhaft an diesem Oktobertag war, hat Nigel die Reihenfolge der Tour kurzfristig optimiert und entsprechend angepasst. Während der Autofahrt hat er uns viele Details und Geschichten zu Schottland erzählt und sprachlich sehr viel Rücksicht auf unser englisch genommen, indem er angenehm langsam mit uns gesprochen hat. Insgesamt war es ein unvergesslicher Tag für uns in Schottland und wir können nur jedem eine Tour mit Nigel empfehlen. Großartiger und sehr authentischer Typ!

We had a great day with Nigel. He laid out a plan based on our preferences, which then needed to be changed due to closings, which yet again needed to be changed because of weather. We were glad to have a guide who knew alternatives….and alternative routes. Nigel is knowledgeable and entertaining.

Brilliant day out with Nigel

We had a great tour with Nigel when ashore from our cruise. He knows the area and history as well as the wildlife. Car was comfortable and there was time to wander around when we wanted to. We particularly enjoyed the falconry at the castle

What a great day....!

We had a real nice tour with Nigel. Communication prior to the trip was excellent and he arranged based on our wishes a fitting tour for our little family. The whole day flew by with lots of views, excellent insides and personal stories. The price based on the amount of time and the amount of people was absolutely worth it.

Invergordon Area Private Tour.

Whilst recently cruising on the Island Princess our stop in Invergordon was proving difficult to find any off-ship tours until we came across Nigel and his amazing team.
We booked a private tour for 4 adults to include a cruise on Loch Ness, a tour around Urquhart Castle along with a scenic drive to Dunrobin Castle for a tour of the castle and gardens with the falconry display.
Nigel's communication before the day was awesome, he left nothing unanswered and was very prompt with his responses to my many queries. Even the impromptu, on-ship, UK Boarder Force inspection dropped on us the day before arrival didn't phase him as h had a Plan B if necessary.
We met shore-side with one of Nigel's drivers, Johnny, who was to be our guide for the day. Johnny walked us to his Range Rover which was the perfect vehicle for the day, being high up made the drive prefect to take in the scenery.
After a quick tour of Invergordon to view the murals painted on several buildings we headed off to Inverness. Johnny was extremely knowledgeable of the local area and history, imparting this information with glee as we drove along the beautiful countryside.
Following a short stop by the river in Inverness we headed off to our boat on Loch Ness. The weather stayed fine for us and we had a nice cruise on the loch although we did not see Nessie.
Departing the boat we toured the ruins of Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness which was very interesting. From here we headed back towards Inverness to visit Dunrobin Castle. We stopped at a small craft market on the village green of a quaint little village which was a nice break cut short by a heavy rain shower.
Johnny gave us a personal tour of Dunrobin Castle, again imparting his vast knowledge of the building, the family and the history surrounding the area.
At 2:15 we headed down to through the beautiful gardens to take our seats for the falconry display. This was well worth the wait as the skill of the falconer and the birds was amazing and I'd recommend this to anyone visiting the area.
We closed off the afternoon drive back to our ship with a short stop by the firth to see the seals and partake in a wee dram from Johnny's emergency kit. This was a nice surprise and very warming as it went down.
Johnny got us back to the ship in time for a little souvenir shopping to close off a great day in Scotland.

We had such a wonderful time with Nigel. We took a tour of the northern whisky distilleries with him, and he was very informative. We had a lot of fun. He was able to get us into distilleries that had no availability, and took us to a beautiful view of Millionaire's View. Nigel gave us lessons in Scottish history, and culture. It was a very special day, and I highly recommend Nigel, and Invergordon Shore Excursions.

Invergordon private tour with Nigel

We were docked in Invergordon overnight so we booked a private tour with Nigel and it was perfect. He responded promptly from our very first contact and regularly with any questions we asked. We stopped at Balblair Distillery for our first Scotch whisky tasting which was very informative. Then it was on to visit Dunrobin Castle & Gardens which was beautiful. After that we took a wonderful drive through the back roads of Scotland towards the Falls of Shin to see the salmon leaping upstream. Nigel was not at all concerned about how much time our tour took and it felt like we were travelling with a friend. He provided lots of information relative to the area and was a delight to spend the day with. Book a tour with Nigel and you will truly enjoy the time.

We saw so much on this tour!

We had a great tour with Nigel. Great communication prior to the trip and he arranged a cruise on Loch Ness for us high was great. We saw so much on the day including one of the best views we have ever witnessed. He took us for some whiskey tasting and unfortunately for me my wife now has a liking for single malt whiskey as well as watching Outlander after visiting some of the filming sites during the tour.
