This is a great place if you want fairly hardcore mountain bike riding, however not the place for us on this occasion.
We were a family and I had my daughter on the back of my bike and It wasn't really suitable for us. We did the green trail which was ok but short so then did the blue. It was hard work and very stoney/ bumpy which we didn't enjoy, my bike definitely needs a service after this. We had two people on decent mountain bikes who said it was too stoney for them to really enjoy.
I regularly do blue routes at places like Cannock chase with a child on the back and we had a great ride at coed y Brenin.
However most people there had much better bikes equipped to cope with the terrain and seemed like hardcore mountain bikers.
Overall I would recommend here if you are into proper mountain biking but maybe not with young children/inexperienced riders which was obviously our fault for not doing more research first.

This is my go to trail centre, well maintained trails that are well signposted, the food served in the cafe is outstanding and a reasonable price. The car parking charges are about right for a day out and the money goes into maintaining the trails

Visited today for the first time in a while as I heard they now have trail running tracks.
Myself, my wife, mother in law and children made the trip, they walked I ran. Trails were good fun and worth the visit.
However, the parking charges are rediculous and the reason I won't be returning.
£5 per car and one adult, then £2 per additional adult. £9 for a family to walk and/or run, it's cheaper to make the trip to Delamere.
Such a shame as the set up there is good.

Nice place to walk with well marked tracks BUT the car parking charges are ridiculous. £5 per car was expensive but now to add an extra £2 per passenger is extortionate! £7 for a family if 4 (children don't pay) is outrageous!! It is clear the owners don't want to attract or care about walkers. We usually use the cafe but because of the disappointment with the additional parking costs we chose not to spend any more money on site. We won't return while parking charges are this high. Also there was dog poo along the walking routes so beware if you're walking with children.

This isn't a place for walkers now. There are so many bikers, who make it clear that walkers are just in their way. It's really expensive to park now too. There are much nicer places to walk in the area,

Walked in Llandegla forest for the past 20 years and were really disappointed to be charged the new admission price, now £7.00 for my husband and I to walk our 2 dogs. Now we are retired we had started to walk there twice a week to get fit, the reason for the price rise given was “covid” , seem more interested in getting the bikers there than the walkers, who, incidentally, were the first people to use the area. We can walk in other places for a lot less ie Newborough beach for a lot less and have similar facilities, also Delamere Forest. We won’t return, walkers are not liked here !

Visited this area today with husband and children ,started well ,lots and lots of bikes on all paths they didn't care what path they were on ,just ridding past you ,very snobby bikers they were on the path and they were the boss ,we were on a path for bikers and walkers ,3 men passed my husband and a women in her bike ,she called my husband swore at my husband in front of my children ,I nearly knocked her of her bike the silly cow ,,that forest is for bikers only not walkers ,walkers are not wanted there ,I will never visit there again for me and my family it was upsetting listening to that abusive women ,she ruined my day ,I hope she has a happy landing some time of her bike.

Only my second red route but what an experience! First few miles climbing up, great views from the top, very different from the terrain local to me (all flat), some good downhill sections and great for a newbie like myself. Parking only £5 to enjoy this wonderful trail.

A superb day riding the trails, followed by a lovely lunch at the centre. We will definitely be doing this again soon.

I would say no. Maybe on the green family trail but not the others. However there are great walking trails to take him round

Dogs are more than welcome, the walking trails are separate from the biking trails so there's no danger of your dog getting hurt. Dogs can also go inside the cafe if they are on a lead and are friendly
