Cycling tour of the Lac d'Orient

We visited with our bicycles at the ready and it was fantastic. There is a cycle route that encircles almost the entire Lac d'Orient (only a tiny bit that goes through the very quiet village of Géraudot but the cycle route starts up again on the way out of the village). The route is tarmacked and is very easy to navigate for even young riders (our son is 6 and managed absolutely fine). If you wish, you can do both lakes in one go (Lac d'Orient and Lac d'Auzon Temple), but we did just the Lac d'Orient which was a 25km circle.
The cycle route is technically a shared track, so there are also runners and walkers, but the majority of traffic is made of cyclists.

I have seen other man made lakes where they design a viewing area. Nothing like that here. It is recommended you bring with you an electric powered cycle to enjoy.

Mooi rustig gebied. Te groot om te wandelen. Een e-bike is eigenlijk het beste om alles te kunnen zien. Een aantal mooi beschutte plekken om vogels te spotten en over het algemeen een zeer ontspannen park!

Belle forêt, mais malheureusement pas de pistes cyclables qui en fassent le tour. Donc très dangereux si vous faites des trajets entre la maison du Parc et la loge aux chèvres ou Mesnil Saint pėre. De plus les sentiers ne sont pas très bien balisé. Pour finir avoir une maison du Parc (naturel) et pas de poubelles de tri et une fontaine à eau pas indiquée et qui plus est a côté de déchets : triste.

En vacances au camping avec des enfants de moins de 10ans, il est impossible de trouver une piste cyclable pour se promener en toute sécurité. Quel dommage..
Cela n'incite pas à revenir. Les touristes du Nord de l'Europe qui aiment pourtant bien cette région font grise mine en voyant que la France est à la traîne en matière de piste cyclable.

a coté ce Toyes ce parc est très agréable on peut se ballader en vélo ou à pied , beaucoup de point de vue et d'espaces pour observer la faune et la flore
