I visited the collection hall today,and i was very disappointed.Large areas that clearly should have a display empty.Motor bikes such as honda 250cc 6 cylinders not on display, because they are showing it outside on the 23 march.plus other bikes. They said the hall was undergoing facelift.

This museum is located in Honda Mobility Resort Motegi (formerly Twin Ring Motegi) and shows the history of Honda.
The experience of getting inside the HondaJet cabin was valuable as it was a typical Honda exhibit, with a wide range of businesses ranging from motorized bicycles to super turnips, sport bikes to Formula One, Asimo and HondaJet. There was also an audio guide that could be accessed by smartphone.
The museum itself is free, but it cost 1,900 yen/person to enter the mobility resort and 1000 yen/car for parking.

If you're in the area, you should definitely go. You can't have this much fun for free. I think they should charge an admission fee. I hope they use that money to cover maintenance costs and keep it open for a long time.
This is a must-see for car and motorcycle enthusiasts. You can take as many photos as you want, but it's better to see the real thing than see the photos. It's definitely great.

Honda is one of the most prolific brands in the automotive world, both for street vehicles and racing ones, so if you are into cars and motorbikes, you absolutely must visit this museum. The first floor is dedicated to the automotive innovations, the second one to “normal” vehicles and the third one to the models who made the history of motorsport. It’s forbidden to touch the exhibited vehicles.

Per un appassionato di moto ed Honda in particolare, è una esperienza che è assolutamente da fare. Specialmente ora (giugno 2022) che il Giappone ha aperto di nuovo al turismo sarebbe bello abbinare la visita ad una manifestazione del Twin Ring Motegi. Al museo si respira un’atmosfera speciale soprattutto nella parte dedicata al mondo racing; ma anche nella sezione al piano terra dove c è la zona dedicata al fondatore Soichiro Honda ci si può rendere conto della sua visione.
Il museo purtroppo è molto isolato e di lunedì L unico modo per raggiungerlo dalla stazione di Mito o di Utsonomyia è il taxi che risulta molto costoso (poco meno di 100 euro a tratta) a meno che si possegga una patente internazionale che permetta di noleggiare un’auto o una motocicletta. Io ci sono arrivato dall aeroporto di Narito utilizzando un pass chiamato Tokyo wide pass della durata di 3 giorni e del costo di circa 70 euro che può essere utilizzato su diversi treni veloci che partono da Tokyo; quindi circa 1 ora e 15 minuti col Narita express dall aeroporto a Tokyo e poi un altra ora da Tokyo ad Utsunomyia. Punto dolente del museo, a mio avviso sono, L impossibilità di comprarvi del cibo visto che ci sono solo un paio dì distributori di drinks e lo shop del museo che non offre nulla di “indimenticabile” che non possa essere comprato comodamente in rete. Quando sono stato c erano anche un paio di moto che perdevano rispettivamente olio e liquido lubrificante: non una bella immagine per Honda. Per me una volta nella vita bisognerebbe andarci.

We had rented a car to get up to Nikko from Tokyo and being fans of car culture decided to stop at both Tsukuba and Motegi. I was aware of the Honda Collection Hall so I knew it would be worth going in just for that. While we got lucky with Tsukuba having a drift/grip day going on and free spectating, Motegi didn't have much going on. The price to get into the facility was more than my wife would have preferred, but with the inclusion of the pass to get into the Honda Collection Hall I think even she left happy with what was spent. Probably not worth it for non-car enthusiasts but otherwise 2-thumbs up! Getting there without a car would probably be an absolute pain. Biased opinion: S2000 and NSX in garage.

ツインリンクもてぎに隣接する自動車博物館。無料だがかなり充実している。３階にはF1で使われた実車がずらりと展示されていて、これだけでもホンダのすごさが分かる。１６戦中１５勝と圧倒的に強かった１９８８年にセナが乗った車もあった。セナがその後事故死したことなど、いろいろなことを思い出し、ちょっと感動してしまった。

久しぶりのホンダ車購入を機に、初訪問しました。
もちろん来場者を選びますが、ホンダファン、昭和のクルマファン、バイクファン、F1ファンならぜひ行っていただきたい、という施設です。
若い時に得たホンダに関する知識を、更新すべき内容も多々ありました。
展示製品は、発電機・耕運機、バタバタからNSX、さらにF1まで幅広く、
クルマメーカーとして戦後派かつ異端児だったホンダの歴史がよくわかります。
二輪は門外漢ですが、カブやモンキー、ロードバルなど楽しめました。バイクのミュージアムとしては世界でも一級品なのではないでしょうか?
惜しむらくは、ホール入館自体は無料ですが、ツインリンクに入るための入場券・駐車場のコストが必要なこと。トヨタ博物館のように、ここの見学だけが目的ならば、入場料は1,000円程度、駐車場はフリーにしていただきたいところです。

Expensive to go by taxi. Perhaps hire a car?
Take train out from Tokyo (JR pass) to Utsunomiya (about an hour) Then the bus to Motegi (JR pass) and 10 minute taxi to Honda Collection

Not really sure, we came in from Tokyo, took the shinkansen to utsonomiya station, from there, there are public buses right outside the train station to motegi.

How do I travel from Mito to the Honda Collection Hall ?I have heard there is a bus. I am arriving in Mito on Sunday 25 Oct.
