江戸時代の住居や街並みが再現されています。
成田空港から道1本、車で30分くらいです。
コスプレができるので、インバウンドの人を連れてきてもいいのではないでしょうか。
春だったので菜の花や梅が咲いていました。

Enjoyed experiencing old houses with attire,outdoor toys, farm & shops
It was huge place so we missed other side of the road as hotel bus pick up time came !
We had soba noodle for lunch ,better bring own vegetables as the restaurant served only noodle

I expected more according to the information flip. The place is only a street with reproduction of old craftsmanship but almost empty the day I went. Nobody doing nothing. The old big houses worth seeing.

とにかく敷地が広大なうえに、谷戸地形のため坂も多く見てまわるのが大変です。
この施設を初回する際に取り上げられる商家の町並みは、入口の極一角の狭い場所にしかありません。
日光江戸村のような施設だと想像していると、あまりの狭さにがっかりすると思います。
基本は「房総のむら」の名前のとおりに、農家や武家屋敷といった家々の保存がメインの場所でした。
さらに入り組んだ谷戸地形を利用して、低地には水田が設けられていました。
またこのエリア自体が、龍角寺古墳群のため、大小様々な古墳があります。
元々の敷地が広大なところに、風土記の丘エリアも「房総のむら」に含めてしまったために、見てまわるだけでも時間をかなり使いました。
「江戸東京たてもの園+川崎市立日本民家園+古墳群+水田」という感じで、とにかく種々雑多な展示です。
ほとんどの方は車で向かうと思いますが、私は成田線の下総松崎駅から歩いていきました。(30分程)
このルートの場合には、房総のむらの有料施設入口が一番遠くになります。
手前にある風土記の丘エリアを先に見る事になります。
風土記の丘エリアには、重要文化財の旧学習院初等科正堂と旧御子神家住宅が展示されています。(見学無料)

Was here on one of the free Narita Transit tour led by volunteer guides with my teenage kids and totally loved the experience. Narita transit programme sets off from Narita Airport.
There is a small entrance fee but it is free for really young kids and seniors. It is part of a compound which has a cosplay attraction (where kids and adults can dress up in kimono, ninja, and samurai costumes for a small fee and walk around the old town), a old townhouse, and a small little park with cafe and shops.
In the compound, there is an old 'High Street' with old edo period shops. Each shop is an activity space for different crafts (candle making, cake making, pottery, origami, blacksmith, bamboo craft, rice cracker baking, and much more). There is a replica moat with Koi fishes. If you bring some feed, you can feed the fishes from an old bridge.
There is also a samurai house and another farmer house. At the farmer house, you can see how they harvest rice and try old games like spinning top and stilt walking. There are also crafts for sale in the information centre.

This is a combination of a "historical site" and a movie set; as such not much of it is original or old, but it is all in the style of old. The Merchant's street evokes Japan during the Samurai times. It is a pleasant place to visit.

千葉県のHPを見ると、年に何回か無料開放になっていました。
祝日で混雑するかな…と思いきや、さほどでもなく、むしろ平日は寂しい感じだろうな…と思いました。ある程度、人いないと、体験コーナーなどのイベントが成り立たないように感じました。
中国人観光客がバスで訪れていましたが、園内は、それも気にならないくらいの広さがあります。ゆっくり回って、１時間半から２時間程度でしょうか…。
のんびり田舎を歩いているような感じになります。

one of my party is in a wheelchair if we get a taxi to the museum is it easy to get a taxi back to narita airport from the museum

Hi! Could you please tell me what is the best way to get Boso-no-Mura from Narita station? I have 7 tourists in my group. If we need to take a local bus in such case how much a bus ticket is?

Thank you for your interest in Boso-no-Mura.
The best way is to take a bus.Chiba Kotsu (千葉交通) bus is operated from West exit of JR Narita station. Take a Ryukakujidaishako (竜角寺台車庫) bound bus at No.4 bus stop and get off at Ryukakujidai 2 Chome (竜角寺台2丁目) after 20 minutes ride. JPY410 is the one way ticket fee per person. 10 minute walk for Boso-no-Mura.

This museum is not available on every Monday.(* If on Monday is holiday in Japan, on Monday is available and on Tuesday is not available.)
Most activities are needed reservations. If you gonna reserve such activities, Call +81476(95)3333. (* be careful, maybe they speak only in japanese language). Call them, and You can have reservation.
I recommend you'll have reservations as soon as you can. They have always a lots reservations.
Here has really interesting activities. You'll feel 'Japan' and have good experiences for sure :)

How do you get from Narita hotel Tubo to Boso-no-Munro and if one f the group is in a wheelchair could she manage the journey with help from a member of the party. She can walk short distances

There is the free shuttle bus service from Tobu hotel to JR Narita station or Aeon Mall Narita.
Taxis are convenient from there about ￥3000~￥4000, please get off near the entrance of Boso-no-Mura if one is in a wheelchair.
We have a free lending wheelchair and barrier-free lavatory with wide space.
Please come and enjoy our museum.

Can we buy the admission tickets online? We are interested in visiting the place during our stay in mid Dec. Understand that the museum will be closed on all Mondays including 17 Dec. Pls kindly advise. Thank you.

Hi, we are considering visiting this month with our young kids (3 and 5). Is this suitable for kids? Are there any English guides at the site? We would not be able to go with a volunteer guide from Narita airport, as we can only attend in the afternoon.
