It was connected from the platform of Azabe Station to a part of the old bridge and was maintained as an observation area.
Not only was it possible to observe the Sanin Line train passing through the bridge up close, but it also provided a view of the Sea of Japan side.

On the Sea of Japan side of Hyogo Prefecture, you can't miss the Yobe Bridge Sky Station. Part of the old Yobe railway bridge, where a serious accident once occurred, has been preserved, but don't worry, you can go up comfortably in the elevator. Below you can see the houses of Yobe facing the Sea of Japan, but it's quite high, so if you don't like heights, I recommend not pushing yourself. It is directly connected to Yobe Station and you can take trains from here, but unfortunately there are only a few on the San'in Main Line, so I wasn't able to see it. There was a sign for the "(Twilight) Mizukaze"

I bought a Seishun 18 Ticket and visited the Amarube Iron Bridge for the third time out of five trips.
After the accident, the iron bridge was changed to a concrete bridge, but the view of the Sea of Japan from Amarube Station is still spectacular.
There were many tourists and people taking photos of the scenery and trains.
If you come by car, there is a parking lot at the foot of the bridge, so you can leave your car there and take the observation elevator to Amarube Sky Station. If you come by train, you can take the observation elevator to the Amarube Iron Bridge Roadside Station below.
I arrived at Amarube Iron Bridge around lunchtime, so it was crowded and I gave up on eating at the roadside station, but if you go on a weekday or during the lunchtime, I don't think the restaurant will be too crowded.
If you want to take photos of the scenery or trains, there is a sign at the parking lot at the foot of the mountain, so please use the sign as a reference before climbing the mountain.
The photo spots listed on the sign are small and not suitable for large groups of people. Let's all work together to ensure that these photo spots continue to exist in the future by observing proper etiquette.
When the leaves change color in autumn, I'm sure we'll be able to take some truly special photos.

A corner of the old Amarube Bridge was developed as an empty station. It was directly connected to the Amarube Station platform and was located next to the current Amarube Bridge. From here you could see the view of the Sea of Japan and also look down towards the village. Incidentally, an elevator was installed near the end of the station and it was named the "Amarube Crystal Tower."

「旧余部鉄橋」を利用して、41mの高さから日本海のパノラマが楽しめる展望施設。軌道の一部が残されていて歩くこともできる。餘部駅側に橋脚の一部も残されているが、仰ぎ見ると鋼鉄のオブジェのようで迫力がある。東洋随一といわれた鉄橋の歴史を後世に伝えるとともに、地域交流の場および観光拠点として整備されたと聞く。今は2017年に整備されたエレベーター（余部クリスタルタワー）のおかげで、手軽に高さ41m眺望を楽しめるが、それまでは急勾配の上り坂を登らなければ展望施設へ行くことができなかったそうだ。

旧余部鉄橋は1912年の完成。2010年に供用終了となり解体されたが、餘部駅側3本の橋脚は保存された。そこが展望施設「空の駅」となっており、約41mの高さから日本海を眺めることができる。エレベーター(余部クリスタルタワー)周辺はコンクリート舗装されているが、餘部駅のホーム裏側は砂利の路盤と枕木が残されており、線路の上を歩く体験ができるようになっている。

元鉄橋迄にエレベーターがあり、楽に上まで上がれました。景色は非常に良いです。昔の鉄橋も残っていて面影が楽しめました。

遡る事1,986年､国鉄の傲慢による
忌まわしい列車転落事故により…
今は頑丈なコンクリート橋になったけど
一昔前は､とてもか細い鉄橋だった｡
今は橋脚の一部と線路がちょっとだけ
保存されている状態なんだよ｡
明治42年にできた餘部鉄橋は､ビルのおよそ
12階の高さを線路が通っていた｡
昔はSLも駆け抜けていた､超絶景な風景｡
眼下に広がる村は､海風の強風に耐える
方向に屋根を向けて建ててあるんだよ｡

余部鉄橋 空の駅の1番目の口コミを書いて以来の訪問でした
前回は無かったエレベータが出来たため前回とても上がるのを嫌がつた妻も今回は子供と楽々と上がれて満足そう
上がると相変わらずいい眺めで、子供たちは枕木の上を歩くのは楽しそうでした。

余部鉄橋空の駅は、旧余部鉄橋の残された3本の橋脚の上に造られた展望施設です。JR山陰本線の駅ですが、入場料の必要がなく、無料で観光できます。地上からの高さは約40メートルで、少し怖さもありますが、日本海を見渡すことがでます。空の駅には線路も敷かれていて、楽しみながら歩くことができます。空の駅の下には駅長のかめだそらちゃんの住居があり、午後3時～4時の間に見回りをするようです。ちょうどその時間に訪れたので、歩いている駅長を見ることができました。
