Went crabbing yesterday with 8 year old. Cost £7 for equipment which was a bargain tbh (it was from the Fish Stall). Spent ages there and was mega fun to do. Went to the cafe which was a little over priced and busy but alright.
My criticism is there are no hand sanitizers darted around, which would have been spot on. When your handling raw meat (bait) and you have children this would have been Ideal. It became rammed in toilets and women's taps were hit and miss.
100% would return. BUT next time I'd take sanitizers AND smokey bacon as bait for crabs because they love it

We’ve visited here a number of times but this time it was particularly busy. Always difficult finding a parking space. The choice of food and drink is not the best, but a lovely setting

It's a lovely place to go and sit and have lunch or dinner in one's car, or sit on one of the benches there and watch people of all ages trying to catch crabs... One day we went, can't remember the actual day, it was earlier this month, and there were fishermen singing in the pub courtyard. It was well attended, with people relaxing in their chairs, which they had brought... There were also American classic cars and their drivers, chilling in the car park. It was a lucky happenstance on our part, because we had gone to the Quay just to eat our takeaway...
Great place to go to, in any weather, there's just a chilled vibe, whether one is walking along the Quay or sitting in one's car...

Mudeford quay is a nice place where you can walk along the front and it is very picturesque. Also it’s very safe for children to do crabbing.
We bought dressed crab from the fish stall which was delicious. There is also a shop and a cafe in case you want a drink or a bite to eat.

This is a beautiful spot mainly for the boating community. Lovely views of the Mudeford Sandbank. There is a ferry that takes you across.

What a lovely place. The battle of Mudeford! Really! All for a few barrels of brandy!
So many people enjoying themselves .
Loved the crabbing, I reckon the crabs are better fed than most pets!! Bacon, ham and even a bit of pork!
Only an hour from major towns in Hampshire. I’m 73 and my first visit..I shall return.

I walked this part of the coast in January, it was pleasantly populated, pretty and interesting. Great for well behaved dogs.

We had such a lovely walk this afternoon with our dogs and met so many other owners with their dogs too.
Sunny and windy day but it felt festive in the air.

We celebrated a big birthday with our family and stayed for a weekend break in a rented property on the Quay together with one family in a mobile home on the Sandhills Park nearby.
It is a hidden gem of a spot and even in winter a hive of activity.
People were sailing and wind surfing which was fun to watch.
We had a great 10 mile walk taking the ferry to the Sandspit and walking to Christchurch and back through the marshes.
Would recommend the Noisy Lobster on Avon beach close by the Quay.

Lovely walk along the front here. Plenty of places to sit and gaze out to the sea. Had a really lovely rhubarb and custard ice cream from the kiosk on the front.

The fish shop arranges trip's. If you want longer ones deep sea etc. or wreck they do them from Lymington daily but you will need to book.

The Parkopedia website states that summer parking is £15 for 24 hours, there is no height restriction and that overnight parking is permitted, but I didn't read the parking sign when I was actually there - this information is purely what's available online.
