An absolutely stunning beach with soft silky sand making it perfect to gently stroll along, or to just sit peacefully with your family for a great day of fun with or without a tasty picnic.
There is chargeable parking nearby that is completely free off season, plus there are several eateries including the Cliffhanger that you can either dine in or grab a take away to enjoy on the beach, if you haven't the energy to walk all the way down there you could just sit on one of the many wooden benches complete with table to soak up all those outstanding views of the Solent & beyond, complete paradise

We have been visiting for 30 years. It’s a lovely Sandy beach with higher shingle and large rocks. It’s not usually v busy. Very popular with dog walkers and joggers. A nice walk along to Avon Beach and Mudeford from here.

My first time here, beautiful sunny day and part of my walk from Chewton Bunny to Mudeford Quay. Lots of posh pads, clean beach.

A lovely sandy beach with walks in both directions. Ideal for children. There was an area where dogs were allowed and another where they weren't so somewhere for everyone.to enjoy. Parking at Steamer Point or at Highcliffe Castle.

It was a very windy day when we chose to visit but it was still very beautiful. There are some lovely walks which are varying for those with full or restricted mobility. If you like walking you will love this place. There is a lovely cafe where you can sit and have a light snack or a full meal. I would recommend the belgium buns they are massive, we decided to share one cake as they were bigger than the plate.

You can park at the cliff top and walk either along the cliffs on down on the beach. It was busy but not too crowded & very pretty

What a lovely beach, so clean and beautifully calm, the walk down to the beach is also very lovely, we parked on the High Cliff castle car park, plenty of space for everyone and such a lovely relaxing atmosphere, definitely one of my favourite beaches in Bournemouth!

We accessed this stunning beach down the 116 steps from the car park in Highcliffe Castle although there is also a further level access route nearby. The views were amazing and the beach is very clean. There are no beach amenities but toilets in the car park and a restaurant in an adjacent car park.

Fab clean sandy beach, complete gem only minutes from the ‘New Forest’. Use the tarmac path down to the beach (3 mins walk) rather than the steps… there are 2 toilets in the car park & the fab ‘Cliffhanger ‘ restaurant & an ice cream shack, but no where to buy cheap snacks, so be prepared with a picnic etc. Parking is reasonable, use the app as it’s so much easier to add on an extra hour without traipsing back up to the car park. We loved the beach, if you take a 5 min walk from the entrance you will find a lovely quiet spot, safe for kids to paddle & body board, clean water & sand… Happy days 😊

Hello , is any parasols for rent on highcliffe beach or any shade places to escape from sun with young children please?

No parasols or deck chair hire, apart from hopefully finding a shady area on the beach, the cliffhanger Cafe has lots of seating with parasols outside,,, The town shops are very nearby, use them to get inside

Quick answer no it's not. Best to do it in two journeys and separate the two beauty spots. Both have car parks. As you get to see the remainder of the coast you get into the New Forest's beach control which is decidedly dodgy for those less able. I hope I answered this in good time? Mark.

Between 1 May and 30 September no dogs on Avon Beach, Friars Cliff Beach and Highcliffe Beach between Groynes H4 and H8. Dogs are allowed between the wave wall at end of Friars Cliff Beach and Groyne H4 at Highcliffe Beach, Mudeford Sandbank and Gundimore Beach.

Is Highcliffe beach cliff area really going to be the site for 8 very large overnight Beach Huts with no attached services? Which in my opinion would spoil it permanently. Just for the small amount of publicity from a Channel 4 competition?

Oh good, it will add character and colour to the area and will no doubt attract more visitors.
We must bear in mind that the beach is for everyone, and not just the snobby, judgemental few who think it is their own personal beauty spot.
