We visited Old Leigh for the fourth time this year!We brought another couple who were visiting for the first time!

Tiny centre packed full of heritage. Well worth dropping in. A volunteer steered me in the direction of many things I did not know about Leigh's fascinating history.

Nice fishing area restaurants and small shops. Good walking from Southend along the estuary path. Good place to observe wading birds.

What a fantastic little museum that takes you back in time. The woman on duty was so knowledgeable and helpful.

Very interesting little museum right in the middle of the main road along the front in the old town.
Lots of information about the history of the town. Walk through to the restored fisherman's cottage which is well worth seeing, including the upstairs rooms.
There's no admission charge though i was pleased to give a small donation. Small shop on site.
So pleased to see somewhere like this is now back open and manned by volunteers following the covid restrictions.
A nice addition to the already very pleasant town of Leigh.

Lots to see, a good collection. Our Grandsons were fascinated by The Fisherman’s Cottage, the lady in there answered all their questions. Well worth a visit.

I took my 9 year old grandson here and it was very informative. We spoke about the olden days and about how large families lived in small properties etc. It was a really nice place to visit.

So lovely to see images of old Leigh, and great that there are people still willing to volunteer to man something like this, and what a friendly welcome we got. Well done everyone concerned.

Old Leigh is steeped in history and this gives an amazing insight into days gone bye
