到訪龍脊山，導遊安排了駕車到龍脊風景區，再轉乘龍脊索道55元單程票登山。登山索道可鳥瞰梯田莊麗的景觀，到達後在觀景台觀賞梯田有另一番美景。在山上茶館享用完地道瑤家小菜午膳後，便花了約一個半小時、近距離觀賞梯田徒步下山。

桂林北で高鉄を降り、チャーターした車で向かった。
途中の沿道は観光用に開発中で、その辺りで昼食をとる人が多いようだった。
ロープウェイ乗り場のふもとで運転手と2時間後に待ち合わせをした。
観光したのは9月中旬で、ちょうど稲穂が黄色く色づき始めているところで、
観光客は多いかと思っていたが、それほど待たずに乗ることができた。
ロープウェイからの景色も、降りてからの景色も圧巻だった。
降りた後は近くを散策したり、屋台で食べたりして、そろそろ降りようと乗り場に向かっている途中に急に大雨が降りだした。
ロープウェイは雨が弱まるまで休止してしまい、結局2時間以上待つことになった。
大幅に予定より遅れ運転手をかなり待たせてしまったが、なんとか暗くなる前にふもとまで降りることができた。
天気が変わりやすいので、雨具の用意をしておいたほうがいいと思います。

We hiked up the rice fields about 1 week before they will harvest. The hike is moderate intensity but worth the effort for the views and pictures.

The place is just amazing. Eventhoug is a little bit difficult to get there, but on the way the people themselves will guide you, do not worry. We took a bus from Guilin, the bus to Longji was around 33 RMB one way from bus station, there are buses going there like every 40 minutes. It takes 2:30 hours approximately to arrive to Longji, the bus let us in the middle of the highway, but some other people (chinese) stopped also in the same point, there is a woman who was kind of in charge of the route, so she told us to wait for another bus to go to the rice terraces, everybody in the bus was going to the terraces so it is their routine to guide you, another bus arrived, we all including the woman got into the bus, and had to pay 50 RMB more, you bettet keep this bus ticket since it is round ticket, from this point to the terraces is around 1 hour more or maybe a little bit less, you will see the entrance to the terrace since there are some announcement, in the bus they will be selling the entrance tickets 80 RMB (50% discount for students).
When we arrived we decided to climb up instead of taking the cable car, what a perfect option to enjoy the terraces, must of the people take the cable car, so the way was no crowded even it was vacation period, and the cable car isn't as close to the rice as you are when walking.
When comming back, be aware of the people selling tickets to go back to Guilin, they will be trying to sell the bus ticket, but remember at this point you already have the round ticket, so dont need to pay again to get back at the transfer point, we took the bus back In the parking lot, not in the exit of the park, there are not buses there, just try to ask where to take the bus back when you arrive to the park, we almost pay 100 RMB because we hadn't found the bus back, and there are many people selling bus tickets to Guilin.
Going back will be the same, you take the bus showing the round ticket, and then they will let you in the middle of the highway again, but another woman will wait for also with the passengers to take the final bus, you will need to pay this one also, 30 or 35 RMB.
Total round trip Guilin-Longji-terraces 110 RMB

On arrival by bus at Dazhai, we booked the cable car ride both ways. Senior pays 90 yuan both ways while a normal ticket is 100 yuan both ways. The cable car station is next to the bus station. We saw many people hiking up to the cable car station. If the weather is good, I would suggest taking the cable car one way and hike the other way. From the cable car station, we could also walk to Tian Tou Zhai which is a large village at midpoint while Dazhai is a village at the base. We ate lunch of bamboo chicken and bamboo rice at the restaurant up there. There are also some locals offering meals at their place. One must defintely hike here to enjoy the rice terraces. However I noticed that it is more pleasant to walk after 4 pm as the mid day heat can be quite hot. So stay at Dazhai or Tian Tou Zhai if possible to enjoy the experience of this rice terraces.

The village has a maza of steps left and right so it's easy to get lost there. Don't go out at night by yourself if you don't know the way. During day time breath taking views. Make sure to do the hike to both view points!

Longji es pueblo que está al final (o al principio, según en qué dirección se haga) del paseo entre las terrazas de arroz más conocidas de China. No llegan a ser tan hermosas como las de otros países asiáticos (Vietnam, Bali en Indonesia), pero merecen la pena. Se puede ir caminando entre los pueblos de Dazhai a Ping'an y, de allí, a Longji

Schitterende uitzichten. Hier krijg je een beetje het gevoel hoe rijstbouw eraan toegaat. Het geheel straalt een landelijke autenticiteit uit, die je op weinig plekken in de wereld tegen komt. Snel opkomend toerisme, dus haast je als je het nog op deze manier wilt ervaren.

I'm a little confused about posts that include comments of entering a village for 100 rmb. The way I'm picturing the area is, there are a couple of villages Longji and Ping'an surrounded by mountains with beautiful picturesque rice terraces. Are they saying that as you travel along a road, you must pay a toll to enter a village? What if you're staying at a hotel in the village do you buy or receive a pass of some kind?
Also, what is your advice for getting to the villages/hotel from Guilin airport (KWL) I'm going in Sept 2015 and I'm planning the trip now. Thank you for your time and advice.

I just returned from this region where I did a 4 day holiday. We hired a guide and car for the trip from Yangshou where we were staying to go to The Longji rice terraces/village. There effectively IS a toll gate to get into the village and thence to the terraces. I didn't know the price to enter as the guide paid, but i reckon your amount is about right - kids under a certain height are free (they measure them, but so does Disney!) The price is worth it I think - the views are stunning and the village is lovely. The money goes to the village.
