On the most southern part of La Palma we visit the great salt facility. It was a.nice area with small beaches.

Original lugar al aire libre y de acceso gratuito. Llama la atención el contraste de color de la sal, la roca volcánica de la erupción del Teneguía y el mar azul.

De salinas liggen er mooi bij en steken af tegen de zwarte lavaomgeving. Ze zijn lastig te vinden en ver gelegen van de hoofdstad. De dubbele vuurtorens zijn mooi om te zien. De uitleg op de borden is waardeloos. Het erbij gelegen restaurant is goed. En voor een drankje alleen betaal je heel weinig.

Un lugar donde se unen el azul del cielo y el mar, el blanco de la sal, el negro de la lava volcánica y el rojizo de los cocederos de sal. Bellísima carta de colores que nos brinda la naturaleza y que vigilan, atentos, los dos faros, el nuevo a franjas rojas y blancas y el antiguo de piedra basáltica.

Sunday 14th August of we visited Lighthouse Fuencaliente (Faro de Fuencaliente), on the windy southern end of the Island.
A short walk from the lighthouse is where these salt pans are located. They opened in 1967 and are now protected as a "Site of Special Scientific Interest" due to their geological, wildlife and ethnographic values.
It is free to walk around here on a self guided tour, there are numerous information boards providing social, historic, cultural and geographical information.
It takes about thirty minutes to walk around and learn about the many processes in the production of salt, more than we envisaged.
As we walkeded the salt beds, there was visible evidence of the lava flow from the 1971 ceruption of Teneguia and how close it all came to burying them.
The Salt Pans are still in production today, and it is possible to buy some salt here or in shops around the Island.
Also nearby as well as the Lighthouse is the Jesuit Martyrs Memorial and the Beach. So there is a good bit to see here.

Un sitio que denota calma y tranquilidad.Si se puede visitar al atardecer mejor pues el reflejo del sol en las salinas crea un entorno idilico.

Eine der letzten Salzsalinen der Kanaren. Der Besuch lohnt sich um einen Einblick in die Arbeit zu bekommen. Zudem liegt der Ort landschaftlich sehr schön. Und das Salz ist auch super!

Très facile il y a un arrêt de bus juste a côté du Phare a l'abri
Le bus vient directement vous chercher pour ensuite vous ramener a l'hotel
