It's a nice very pretty beach with s short sandy beach however it's very rocky from the shoreline. The beach might be less rocky elsewhere but we were near Nico's bar. On the plus side Nico's sunbeds are the best in Barbados. Little food and drink shack selling nice stuff. The burger was excellent.
However not as good as Rockley / Accra beach or Miami beach near Oistins.

Alleynes Bay is a beautiful, calm, sandy beach just north of the Fairmont Royal Pavillion.
Rico rents top quality sun loungers and umbrellas for a very resonable price. He can also provide cold drinks, wine, beer and rum punch. He is super organized and attentive.
Food is available or it is a short walk to the Lone Star for a fancy lunch or to Jumas, less fancy but still very good.
Various water sports are available but generally it is a nice quiet beach.

Gorgeous quiet beach with beautiful clean water. Spot the blue umbrellas which belong to Ricosonthebeach. Choose excellent, high quality, clean, comfortable sunbeds from Rico @ricosonthebeach his umbrellas are also excellent quality too providing plenty of shad and Rico’s team are very responsive, friendly and polite. They also have great rum punch with freshly grated nutmeg. Rico will even deliver you typically Bajan lunches made by his Mum, Sonia! What could be better? Take swim shoes as depending on tide there are some stones or you could buy in shop at the local swish Royal Pavilion Fairmont hotel.

Great beach. Shallow gently shelving water in a lovely bay - although more stones in the water than previous years. Plenty of beach beds. Quieter than Mullins. Jumas is great for drinks and food. Note - Jujus has burned down so is not available. Recommended for a great relaxing day

Lovely stretch of beach, plenty of character. We hired chairs from Kevin, they’d seen better days, but were super comfy. We had lunch, and drinks from Juma’s (used to be in Speightstown).
Will be going back tomorrow, highly recommend.

This is an amazing beach that has everything! Beautiful sandy beach with calm water and easy access but the best part was meeting Rico who provides beach beds and umbrellas for the day at a reasonable price and truly gives good service! When we returned for a second day he greeted us by name and remembered where we liked to sit and set up everything for us! He also answered all our questions! We returned several times during our stay on Barbados and were never disappointed. There is also a cute little beach bar called Jujus that is right at the beach beds for easy access to libations and food! Loved it! Thanks Rico for contributing so much to our stay on Barbados!

Had an amazing day at Alleynes beach. Rico fixed us up with sunbeds and some beers with a cool box. Lunch and a rum punch at Ju Ju's was fantastic and spent most of the time in the sea. Definitely recommend for a relaxing day out.

We’re on Alleynes’s beach today. It’s absolutely stunning. Gorgeous weather and the sea is like a millpond!

One of the main reasons we chose our hotel was because it’s right on Alleynes Bay which is regularly described as the best beach on Barbados. The shallow beach has fine white/yellow sand and the Caribbean Sea laps gently along the length.
There are some very good bars and restaurants, the cheaper but excellent Ju Ju’s and Top Deck plus the white tableclothed and pricier Lone Star.
What I really love is the palm trees leaving over in the sand making it look like the perfect idyll. Just a shame the weather wasn’t quite good enough in November for us to lay there every day, 5 out of 10 was just fine though.

From beginning to end, Rico was very attentive and on top of his game. He met us right outside the cruise port and drove us to the beach, telling us about the architecture of the buildings and the celebrities that have homes on the island. Once we arrived at the beach, it was a delight. Beautiful crystal clear water, white sand and clean, comfortable loungers with umbrella. The entire day was amazing, and we will use Rico's for every visit to the beautiful island!

How much for 2 chairs & umbrella?

Each chair is $15 US and the same for an umbrella. We were there yesterday, Feb 22nd 2020. No turtles by the way if this is your goal. It is a very crowded and loud beach. We saw turtles today at Paynes Bay.

are taxis expensive? How much does a beer or spirit drink cost on average? Am thinking of going over the Christmas holiday at the end of this year

Hi, taxis are expensive. We travel on the government buses and the yellow buses = $1 US for every trip pp. Very occasionally we would take a cab as a treat. Rico can get you good prices. The local beer is Banks and cost $5 US for 4. You can have a reasonable holiday here if you choose not to eat out all the time. It is the perfect place to go around Christmas. You will have a great time. Good luck with your choice!

We are also visiting off a cruise ship and would like to spend the day on the beach, Is it relatively straigtforward to get to Alleynes without hiring a car ourselves?.I know its about 15km from Bridgetown, Is it worth the travelling or could we find somewhere closer to the ship. perhaps St Lawrence Gap/Dover beach? good for swimming? thanks.

We will be in Barbados from a cruise ship in January. Any idea how close this is to the port? We are looking for a much less crowded area but still with chairs. Any idea on the cost of the chairs and was the beach bar Juju there also? thank you

Yes Jujus is next to The Lone Star, I would say you are a 20 - 30 minute drive from the port. Think the chairs on the beach were about 20 BBD each in Jan 18

No very big beach compare to Mullins.Go to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion and ask for Rico

Does Alleyne's beach have lots of broken coral? Travelling with kids so want to keep to a sandy beach - avoid cut feet!
Also is it ok to use own umbrella on the beach?

A tip about getting onto beach...go by steps near Ju Ju's beach bar. It will be easiest way to get onto beach especially with kids and your beach supplies! Otherwise you will find yourself going down a rocky slope! Ju Ju's is right next to Lone Star. Also stop in Ju Ju's for their Rum Punches and some lunch. Was our favorite spot.
