Der absolute Traumstrand für mich. Dank seiner Lage konnte ich jeden Morgen und Abend den Sonnenauf- und untergang bestaunen. Flisvos ist ideal gelegen dafür. Mit den Bergen im Rücken, unweit das Schilf und die Pflanzen die fein duften, dem Weitblick und klarem Wasser absolut traumhaft. Die kleine Bucht auch für kurzes Schwimmen morgens und abends ideal. Schildkröte und Oktopus gesichtet 😍

Fantastic beautiful beach, the water is so clean and crystal clear. Sandy, no stones. Beautiful sunset in the evening. You can rent sun bed and have a great lunch at the beach restaurant

Went here after hiking the Imbros Gorge. The beach is nice, sandy and with a slow drop off. Great way to cool off after the hike. You can rent a two person umbrella seating for 6 euros. I wouldn't rave about the beach, but still very nice.

Κάποτε ήταν ο παράδεισος της. Νοτιας. Κρήτης... Τώρα σε κακή κατάσταση με 2 σετ ξαπλώστρες σε κακή κατάσταση... Όλα λειτουργούν κάπως περίεργα... Όχι όπως ήταν... Μια απλή μέτρια παραλία...

Είναι συχνό φαινόμενο στη συγκεκριμένη παραλία ο πολύ δυνατός αέρας που ξεσηκώνει την άμμο και που αν έχεις την τύχη να βρίσκεσαι εκεί νιώθεις την άμμο να σε χτυπάει αλύπητα....Η θάλασσα δεν είναι ρηχή όπως είχαμε διαβάσει και γενικά σηκώνει αρκετό κύμα όταν φυσάει... Επίσης δε θυμίζει τίποτα από τις ιδιαίτερες παραλίες της Κρήτης με τα γαλαζοπράσινα ή τιρκουάζ νερά και τη λευκή άμμο..

Abbiamo visitato la spiaggia il 15 di luglio, in una giornata ventosa che purtroppo ci ha penalizzato. Siamo giunti al castello alle 09,00 di mattina, avendo la spiacevole sorpresa di trovarlo chiuso per lavori di restauro che oramai si protraggono da tre anni, ma logicamente un paio di muratori poco possono fare. La fortezza veneziana comunque è una bella cartolina. Parcheggiata la macchina si gode di un bel colpo d'occhio sulla spiaggia (attrezzata), che quel giorno era bagnata da un'acqua semplicemente trasparente. Superati i primi tre complessi di ombrelloni si raggiunge una rada vicino al porticciolo dove l'acqua è bassa, cristallina e calda che non vorresti mai uscire. Come anticipato il vento ha dato tregua fino alle 14,00 per poi aumentare di intensità tale da consigliarci di battere in ritirata. Per me comunque non è stata una giornata da buttare.

This beach is a bit off the beaten path and challenging to get to. We drove with our rental car through the mountains, navigating some seriously sharp turns to get here. The castle was under some sort of renovation, with some construction materials left in front of it, but the side facing the beach was fine for photos as no construction materials were visible. The abandoned castle is next to a lovely sandy beach. In the morning, there were very few people there. As the day went on, I saw quite a few locals at the beach and some tourists but not a ton. This is an organized beach with a beach bar, bathrooms etc. If you want to use the sun loungers and beach umbrellas, you have to pay as usual. Do make a note that the umbrellas are made of a very porous material, so lather up the sunscreen as they don't provide good shade from the sun. The water in late June was surprisingly cold! However, we still swam in the Libyan Sea. How could we not? We had lunch at the taverna that's a short walk from the beach and faces the sea. It was a nice way to wrap up an excellent day at the beach.

Abbiamo scelto l'isola di Creta x la nostra annuale vacanza ristoratrice ma nel mese di luglio l'isola di Creta, ma in generale tutto l'egeo, vengono sferzati dal MELTEMI, un vento tiepido ma fastidiosissimo che non ti permette di goderti il bel mare dell'isola tale è la sua forza. Poi l'isola essendo un concentrato di ruralitá pura non permette attività diverse da quelle marittime. Quindi, se come noi siete amanti delle attività all'esterno, NON SCEGLIETE QUESTO MESE PER VENIRE A CRETA xchè buttereste i vostri soldi visto che qui non si può fare altro che attività marittime visto che uscito dalla capitale CHANIA i paesini che andate a vedere sono praticamente agglomerati di case senza nessun interesse. Spero di esser stato utile a qualcuno.

La spiaggia mi ha deluso. Dall'alto sembra bella, ma quando entri in acqia i colori non erano belli e non c'era limpidezza. Magari era solo quel giorno? Per gli ombrelloni non fermatemi al prima perche costano 6 euro (per i pigri) , andate oltre costa 5.

Hi there, I'm in West Crete at the moment, Platanias to be precise and am thinking of going to Frangokastello and (Hora Sfakia) Sfakia for a drive/trip. My partner and I have hired a car which he is driving. My concern however is that I've heard that the road down the mountain towards these places is full of many narrow hairpin bends at a great height and not for the faint hearted, ie those that aren't good with heights. I've heard that it's dangerous and narrow.
But I've also heard others say that the roads are fine, it's not dangerous etc and not at all bad.
I am one of those that is not good with heights, narrow roads next to sheer cliffs/mountain drops.
I'd really appreciate people's experiences and views on this so we can decide what to do. Many thanks 😊
