We had taken a Rhine River tour from Frankfurt. We were brought here at Assmannshausen by our driver cum guide. When we sat on chairlift, we did not have any idea that we are going to see magnificent view while going down to Rudesheim am Rhein. The view of mountain, valley and Rhine river below was absolutely amazing.

Tog turen op til toppen, og fodrede rådyr der går i en indhegning der. Turen varer 15 min og er meget afslappende og hyggelig for børn og voksne.
Bemærk dog at du er langt over jorden og er ikke spændt fast med andet end en frontbøjle. Følte mig fint tryg, men har du højdeskræk eller meget livlige børn, kan det ikke anbefales.

Téléphérique agréable comme nous les aimons, ni trop haut ni trop bas. Vous pouvez vous en passer et monter ou descendre à pied ou ne faire qu'un des deux voyages mais la vue en descente sur Assmannhausen sera plus belle. Vous pourrez écoutez le silence durant le voyage ! Souvent associé au départ par télécabines de Rüdesheim, promenade puis descente sur Assmannhausen et retour par bateau (forfait) ce téléphérique en lui-même vous permet de loger, manger ou boire un verre de vin dans un bel hôtel en dehors du tourisme de masse. Et de visiter ce petit village d'Assmannhausen possédant quelques jolies façade, des hôtels et des cafés typiques où l'on sert plus volontiers du vin que de la bière. L’accueil y est sympa et la population du lieu a le temps.

Beautiful views and scenery. If you like hiking and sightseeing this is for you. My husband and I had a fun filled day with the ring ticket experience--boat from Bingen to Rüdesheim, cable car to the Niederwald monument, hike to the chair lift, and a final boat ride back across the river. You can do these things in a reverse order if you wish. And there was more too (castle tours), we just didn't have time to inquire further and continue because this took roughly 4 hours for us, but it's a go at your own pace kind of experience. The line for the chair lift was long so the wait was long, so be prepared for that potential. But it didn't bother us and it was worth it. Wineries are in the area and lots of restaurants and shops too, so there was plenty to do.

Alles wat je van zo’n tochtje verwacht. Boven is er niet direct uitzicht, dat is jammer . Terug is veel mooier: uitzicht op Rijn en hollenberg

We took the KD cruise and exited the boat at Assmannhausen. It is a very picturesque little town if you are looking for a place to grab a beer. Most people just wanted the chairlift. Which was nothing more than a ride to the top. I don't know what folks are raving about.
We rode up. Hiked for about 40 minutes thru woods on a dirt road. Quiet but no views until you reach the very end at Rudesheim.
If time is limited, quite frankly I'd skip to Rudesheim. Take the cable car to the top for a really spectacular view. Then go back down. With KD line, you can get on and off. There is a ticket agent on each boat who will print you a ticket to the next stop.

Great views on the trip up the hill. And just a good experience. Safe for children with accompanying adults. The view over the vines and out to the Rhine is excellent. Much better than driving up!

We did this as part of our Rhine tour from ETS, we went downwards only (€5.50 single trip); the chair-lift is very slow which is great for enjoying the views and taking pictures, if you are scared of heights do not look down but look ahead.

Can someone clarify how the Assmannhausen chairlift differs from the Rudesheim chairlift? Should you just do one or the other or do they offer different experiences and different things to see? Do I use one of these to go to the eagle observatory? Thanks!

I would like to do the round trip from Rudesheim to Assmannshausen via the Germania Monument returning to Rudesheim by train. Can you tell me where I board the chairlift in Rudesheim. The price of the ticket to Assmannshausen and the price of a rail ticket back to Rudesheim. How far is it from the chairlift in Assmunnshausen to the rail station?

I visited here in 1991 so quite a while ago, I remember getting a coach from the hotel in Rudesheim to the monument, boarding the chairlift which I was terrified of (thought it was a cable car) so for someone scared of heights, it made the trip unforgettable for the wrong reasons

I am traveling with my husband and three children. Age 5, 4 and 18 months. We would like to do the ring tour. My 5 and 4 year old will be fine sitting by themselves but will they allow me to hold my baby in the carrier on the chairlift? If not what is the best alternative?

We have seen that it is a popular thing to do to get the cable car from Rudesheim to the top and then the chair lift down to Assmannshausen. Is it possible to do this in reverse, buy a ticket in Assmannshausen and end up back in Rudesheim.
