Der heilige See der Muisca

Die landschaftlich schön gelegene Lagune war einer der heiligsten Orte der Muisca und Ursprung der Legende von El Dorado.
Der Ort kann nur im Rahmen von Führungen besichtigt werden, die leider nur auf spanisch angeboten werden. Immerhin sind die Infotafeln auch in englisch übersetzt.
Zur Lagune führt ein gut zu begehender Weg mit einer Gesamtlänge von gut 2 Kilometern, für die Anreise ist eine organisierte Tour zu empfehlen. Plastikflaschen dürfen nicht mitgenommen werden.

Es una experiencia única y muy poderosa estar rodeada de una naturaleza tan exuberante y hermosa. Es un lugar sagrado y por lo tanto hay que llegar con mucho respeto y amor por este lugar.

La experiencia se resaltó aún más gracias a nuestra guía la contadora de historias ancestrales Clara Chauta. Gracias a ella la experiencia del tour fue único e increíble.

Sehr gut gepflegtes Naturschutzgebiet, welches sich nur mit einem Guide besichtigen lässt - der Guide hat sehr viele interessante Informationen über die Geschichte, den Mythos und die Natur mitgeteilt. Außerdem wird so der Verschmutzung des Parks vorgebeugt.

Une curiosité géologique doublée d'une histoire légendaire

Pendant les WE, une foule de colombiens se presse à l'entrée de ce site, à 50 km de Bogota, qui ne se visite qu'avec un guide local (en espagnol uniquement) en groupe d'une quarantaine de personnes. Vous êtes donc obligés d'écouter le (trop) long laïus de l'histoire, de la faune et de la flore du lieu avant de gravir le l'étroit chemin montant vers la lagune. Arrivés au sommet, après plusieurs haltes où vous ne pouvez pas quitter le groupe, vous découvrez l'endroit avec une vue panoramique sur les montagnes. La lagune elle-même est assez petite et c'est sûrement la légende qui attire les foules en cet endroit perdu. A la descente sur l'autre versant, quelques vendeurs d'arepas font recette pour rassasier les visiteurs après une montée exténuante pour les moins accoutumés (plus de 3000 m d'altitude). Évitez de faire la visite juste après votre arrivée à Bogota car le décalage horaire associé à l'altitude ne font pas bon ménage.

Llegamos a la laguna alrededor de la 1 pm, compramos las entradas e iniciamos el recorrido a la 1:15pm. Fue una súper experiencia, quedamos gratamente sorprendidos con toda la información que nos compartió nuestro guía Camilo, la laguna tiene una historia muy interesante. La caminata si bien no es muy extenuante tiene algunas partes que pueden exigir un poco. No dejen de visitarla es preciosa! PD: La caminata no culmina donde inició, deberán comprar un ticket de regreso en una camioneta pequeña al final del camino, vale 2.500 pesos. Algunas personas se aventuran a caminar pero en realidad los caminos por donde caminas y pasan los carros son angostos por lo que me pareció poco seguro, además de que te cae todo el polvo de los carro al pasar, no vale la pena.

Excelente tour de los guías de la laguna, las 2 horas de recorrido la verdad no se sienten, hicimos el ascenso con niños y todo perfecto, hermosa vista, frailejones y un ecosistema natural muy resguardado por el personal de la Car. Recomendado.

Beaucoup d efforts pour une vue

Malgré un accueil sympathique notre visite s est faite par une guide qui parlait à 200 à l'heure alors qu on avait précisé que nous comprenions l espagnol si elle faisait un effort pour parler doucement. Visiblement elle n avait pas envie de faire d efforts... Une montée bien raide non adaptée aux personnes n ayant pas une bonne condition physique.

Ridiculous rules, half a day minimum

Pay $3 per person to enter, to then be told you can only go on an accompanied tour. The tour is essential to know the history. But its in Spanish, we don't speak Spanish. Well you can't go alone, you'll get lost. What, on a path two metres wide? You might get altitude sickness? We have been at 2500/3000 metres for 3 weeks we are used to it by now. What if a child is tired and wants to turn back, or after the main two marked mira-dors people want to turn back? You can't.
We entered, then turned around at the mirador. But I refuse to promote this by adding photos. The way they work you'll need at least half a day out of Zipaquira to do this tour or a full day from Bogota, it's not worth that.

Enjoyable visit from Bogotá

We visited on an organised tour as we had an evening flight and this filled up the time.

If I am being honest I wouldn’t have probably done it otherwise as it’s a long journey from Bogotá.

The tour is done in Spanish lucky we had an English speaking guide with our tour who translated for us, although the tour was very long winded and we had to stay with an official guide for first half of the tour. With long stops when I just wanted to walk and enjoy the scenery.

When we reached the top guide left us and we were allowed to go at our own pace. To go back down which was just the same terrain as going up.

Enjoyable visit but probably wouldn’t go if it wasn’t part of our tour itinerary and the two and half our trip back to Bogotá airport was a long journey.

The scenery is beautiful but the whole visitor experience was a bit controlled and the tour is only done in Spanish which you have no option but to take the tour with a local guide.

Bonito mas atenção ao caminho!

O lugar é muito bonito mas acho que deveria ser mais divulgado como é feita a caminhada para chegar a lagoa. São diversos degraus que uma pessoa com algum tipo de cormobidade não consegue seguir ou passa muito mal...
De novo, é muito bonito, uma vista incrível, mas o caminho é ruim para uma pessoa de idade, acima do peso, com algum tipo de problema de respiração.
