Great whale watching tour that followed environmentally sustainable rules

We were absolutely delighted with our dolphin and whale watching trip with Terra Azul. They kept in close contact with us leading up to our journey to ensure we would go out in good weather. This company is very environmentally conscious and has an excellent marine biologist on board. They did a great debriefing, provide rides if needed from ponta delgada, and lent clothing to keep dry. We saw loads of dolphins and two fin whales (parent and baby), as well as the beautiful volcanic island of Vila Franca. We saw two other boats harassing the whales, breaking rules by getting way too close and of course, chasing them away. Please use Terra Azul instead of these other companies. They take excellent care of their customers and more importantly, the marine animals we’re here to see.

Professionalism and sympathy

It was a beautiful experience to see the coast of S. Miguel by boat, we saw dolphins, but no whales appeared. The guides explained very well about animal life and nature, in addition to being very attentive to the needs of people (sickness, cold, etc,...). I highly recommend this company!

Terra Azul is a professional and excellent company.
We truly appreciate the excellent service provided by Terra Azul. They helped us choose the best day to avoid bad weather and made it easy for us to reschedule our activity after we had issues with our flights. Their flexibility and great communication made the whole process much smoother. We highly recommend them and will definitely count on them for future activities!

Unforgettable experience. When I hired this experience I doubted if I would be able to jump into the water on the high seas with dolphins nearby, but it is not dangerous, nor risky. I jumped several times and it's amazing to see the dolphins in their natural environment and you there, next to them. Terra Azul makes this an unforgettable experience. Our very professional and close Marilu guide. Try, need as long as you need, to have each of us have the full experience and really swim with dolphins.

Prepared and passionate crew

We had a lovely experience. Managed to watch dolphins and whales. We also appreciated the approach of the crew, they decided not to get too close and disturb the animals (saw other boats not doing so and that was annoying). We want to have another trip and we are definitely going with them again.

A nice walk at sea, we would have liked to see sperm whales or whales, but it is nature we do not choose. Take the waxes we offer, we come back wet.
English speaking guide, a bit of a shame but it does.

Great adventures

Appropriate introduction before setting sail. We found out what to expect. What species will we look out for and who can we meet. During the cruise, a young lady told us about the species we saw.
