The venue offers fair value but is not a typical wildlife game reserve experience. Lions are in enclosures. There are not many animals. The restaurant needs attention in all areas. There are way better options in the area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The game drive and guide was full of laughter, facts and interesting anecdotes. We went for the day and ended up staying overnight.

From the moment we arrived the staff were warm and welcoming. The accommodation was excellent we stayed in a new unit which was beautifully decorated. The game drive was one of the best that I have been on. Audience the tour guide was very informative and knew his animals and his sense of humour was an added bonus. The artwork also done by Audience was absolutely breathtaking, it just gave you that African lodge feeling.The food was plentiful but some what cold. The bar area was nice to chill in and chat to other guests as well as watch sport but what was lacking was bottled wine.A few bottles of wine in the bar would go down well. All in all I will go back and would like to thank Hester and her staff for an enjoyable stay.

Waited some time for the game drive to start. Paid a hefty sum for 45mins to see 6 or 7 species. If you want to see game go to kruger. The loud music coming from the bar is also a huge turn off. While on the game drive had the pleasure of hearing two afrikaans gentlemen using very colourful language over the walkie talkie. Not impressed at all.

It sure was a learning experience and we've enjoyed every moment of it. The staff and the tourguide was very helpfull and friendly. The bar and the facilities is vey nice!

I only found out about this little place this past week through Groupon. Of course I couldn't resist visiting. It was the warmest welcome on arrival from the hostess. She quickly showed us around and then took us to our little chalet. They put in a lot of effort into making everything beautiful and comfortable. The tour with the guide was also very informative and she took her time to show us around and explained everything...from the different buck species to donkeys and of course the majestic lions. It is a place definitely worth a visit!

We stayed here for one night. On Saturday arrival we waited at gate 20 minutes before we could contact the staff. On arrival the staff were really friendly and helpful. Facilitues are 3 star at best with kitsch African decor.
Our room was small and plain with no heater, extra blankets, 2 prong plugs, very basic with no facilities. Power went off and we did not have matches candles in room. The shower trickled out and shocked us. When I equired about this I was told they have a earth leakage and don't know when it will be fixed. This for me is a huge safety hazard. The accommodation is really not recommended at the price point.
When we wanted to go out to dinner luckily we came across a staff member in the dark and he informed us all gates had been locked for night. We insisted we wanted to eat out and was given keys thereafter. Breakfast was ok with watered down juice, horrible coffee and good fry up of eggs bacon and sausage. That was the best.
I am not sure if this is a new business but everyone is trying very hard to be professional and helpful. We went on a game drive which was nice with zebra and various buck. The three captive lions were impressive and came close to fence. The enclosure looks a bit small though. The lion cub experience was the best part of the entire trip.they are truly amazing and playful. It is the reason for the 3 stars. We also fed the petting zoo animals which made me feel like a kid again and was really fun. I think I might have been overcharged for the feeding at R50 for a small bucket of old veggies is a bit steep.
Overall I would not recommend the accommodation. The lion experience is unique and worth it.

We had one romantic night at Otavi! We had a beautiful room which was made up with candles and flowers and champagne! I have to say this place really went out of their way to make it as special as possible and so many friendly and helpful faces. The park is beautiful with small details and Surrounded by Lions and beautiful White Lions. The game drive is about an hour long with some wild to see and mostly Lions! They are currently busy getting more animals. The food is unique and just enough ! They have a great team. You learn a lot about the Lions and I have to say the highlight about sleeping here is the Lion Roars at night and early morning. You have never slept so close to the lions.
The rooms are small and very standard. Tiny spaces but very nice and far from each other.
Personally if would say the rates are just a tiny bit too high for the rooms and what you get sleeping over but a lot of money go towards feeding these animals.
I would recommend that they replace the mattress in the room we slept in since its very lumpy and uncomfortable and falls to the middle but the lions made up for it.
I would also recommend soap by the basin to wash your hands.
Other than that there is a lovely bar, big screen tv and the dining room has the most amazing handcrafted wooden tables and chairs and fireplace.
The animals are well looked after and you can see these people have a passion for the lions.
I see a lot of potential here and would recommend a visit to Otavi

Our stay at Otavi was very disappointing. It is a grossly overpriced establishment with sub-standard facilities. No game viewing was included as per the website. The house we stayed in did not even have a couch to sit on or a fridge or coffee... NOTHING. The tap did not work, the blinds won't open, the water as well as electricity was on and off during the course of the weekend. The breakfast (consisting of mince, bread and scrambled eggs) looked far less than appealing. The carpet looked like it has not been washed in years. And upon talking to staff about it we were told: that everything was fine before we arrived. STAY AWAY!
