Visite guidée pour notre famille de 24 personnes. Au préalable, nous avons pu nous costumer ce qui a rendu la visite plus ludique. La propriétaire des lieux nous a aimablement fait traverser les siècles, nous contant la vie de la famille La Rochefoucauld et nous montrant des documents très anciens. C'était très intéressant. Bien qu'il y ait toujours des salles à remettre en état, le château est superbe. Merci pour ce bon moment.

The highlight of a visit to this beautiful chateau was the library tour. This is a must, even if, as an English speaker you get in on a French tour - you will see things you wouldn't have otherwise. That besides, this is a centuries old building, initially constructed for defense but developed into an elaborate residence with beautiful balconied storeys around the courtyard. Investigate every staircase, there's lots to discover.

Looks like a fairytale chateau when you enter and this is a great photo opportunity. There are some furnished rooms to view and some underground passages that show the foundations of the chateau.

Surnommé la"perle de l'Angoûmois" et pour cause ! Vous ne serez certainement pas déçus par la visite entre les cuisines, salle de gardes, les nombreux salons, la visite commentée de la bibliothèque, salle du trésor et salle des cartes. Vous êtes déja sous le charme quand vous montez le sentier pour accéder au château, que vous contemplez cette merveille de l'architecture renaissance, le charme continue d'opérer tout au long de la visite en dépit de l'affluence. Vous pouvez même vous aventurer dans les souterrains pour découvrir les fondations de ce lieu exceptionnel!

A very interesting visit. We did a self guided tour with an English written guide that was easily followed. A lot history and great views not to mention the beautiful building.

Quelle belle visite, quelle surprise. Penser que la même famille y habite depuis mille ans. Le lieu est habité, les photos de famille le prouve.... Un chef-d'œuvre d'architecture. Bravo!!!!!

Un superbe château renaissance aux superbes pièces richement meublées avec un point particulier sur les bibliothèques et la salle des archives remontant au 13e siècle
La visite vaut le détour surtout que le centre ville est aussi attractif par le cloître du couvent des carmes, l’église et les rues commerçantes à une vingtaine de kilomètres d’Angouleme.

Pas vraiment .On vous donne de la doc a l'entrée . Un feuillé double A4 .Après ,il faut cherché les quelques renseignements dans les pièces .
