Lovely church, very pretty inside.
Attended a nativity in December and was lovely.
Perfect for any age, full of history and very clean.
Lots to learn and the grave stone of Lord Byron is situated just outside the main doors.
Lovely church, plenty of parking but there is a charge.

Visited whilst in town on Remembrance Day - a very nice church which is set in pleasant surrounds and when you visit you get a sense of the history of the place. Very nice and really. Enjoyable experience. Worth visiting

I must say this church is steeped in history and well worth a visit. The staff working there on a voluntary role are very knowledgeably. The only reason I gave it four strs was because the first visit the church was securely locked so had to visit the next day

Went to pay our respects to Byron and Ada but the whole experience was made so special by the volunteers who were so welcoming. An informative exhibition about the locality, church and all different people associated with St Mary's adds to the detail and history. The beautiful Kempe stained glass is glorious and the arts and crafts feel of the church with the gorgeous carved pews and altar makes the place very special. Go and support and enjoy this fantastic place.

Excellent place to pop in and take a good look around. The Church is full of History, including the burial place of the poet Lord Byron, of which there is a display of his life and works. In addition there's an interesting piece of history based on the local bare knuckle boxer Ben Caunt, who is also buried in the grounds. The church itself is proudly cared for regarding its interior and grounds, including beautiful architecture and stained glass windows. Set in the centre of Hucknall, next to the Market Place car park, we certainly felt very welcome and fully recommend a visit.

Our first visit to Newark, and called in this church on recommendation of the tourism office. Beautiful architecture and stained glass. St Georges Chapel emotive with the dedications and information board about WW1 & WW2 soldiers. Recommend a visit here.

One of the best churches we have ever visited.
Nice welcome and free drinks available and seats to sit out.
Thanks to a lottery grant lots of information panels about Lord Byron and other notables connected to the church.
The grave of Lord Byron is well presented and the porcelain wreath is illuminated.
Can’t praise this church highly enough, do visit and remember to sign the visitors book.

Went to see Lord Byron grave. Church very informative. Friendly volunteers as well. You could even have refreshments inside the church. Also very handy disabled toilet inside as well.

Being a fan of Lord Byron I decided to pay his grave a visit with the family and read some poems to them.
This church and churchyard are the resting place of Lord Byron and one of his three children, Lady Lovelace, a heroine in her own right.
Lady Lovelace is buried inside the church and Lord Byron is buried outside, why you may ask? Well, after asking the people at the church and Hucknall people it becomes self evident that they despise Lord Byron because he was bisexual, this homophobia stains through and through this little town, where barely anyone knows about Byron's greatness but they all judge on his personal life transpiring the true intolerance even in 2018 England of certain areas.
If I could remove Byron and bury him in a more tolerant place with his beloved Boatswain (his dog as he requested to be buried), I would most certainly do so, his resting place is a sad homophobic, uneducated place.
