Ciro and his wife are very friendly. His wife prepares a nice gourmant tea before and after the day ride. The view is amazing through the trip and Ciro is very experienced.
However he did not offer safety helmets. Also he did not adjust our leg holders so we were all hurting throughout the trip.

We booked 3 nights and 2 Days horse riding tour with Ciro.
Not having a lot of experience this didn't matter as the horses are tranquilo and Ciro shows you what to do. This would suit all levels of experience but probably not at the same time. ( if you are a novice - be warned, you will ache the next few days)
We had to delay our start date as it had rained hard and the rivers were too high to pass with the horses. So we stayed in the house at a discount rate and instead we hiked 5 hours above Cochamó village which had great views over the valley and sea.
The first day riding to La Junta (5 hours) mostly through woodland had beautiful views of the mountains and rock faces - it is truly spectacular! The horses are agile and strong.
Camp is very rustic and like wild camping, without any facilities. I repeat NO FACILITIES... But the river is so clean and the mountain views are picture perfect.
It is certainly an experience.
The 2nd day was a tough 5 hour hike/climb up through woodland to an amazing cascada. With Ciro the goat! Over rocks, under branches and up ropes. It was a full workout for me.
This was definitely not a luxurious tour, it was camping in a wood for 3 days with only nature and aches/ pains but it was a great experience and one I will not forget.
It cost us $505,000 for 2 people - 3 nights in the house, 4 days either trekking or riding, 2 nights camping & ALL food. House food was amazing - cooked by lovely Ida and camp food was basic ( not cooked by Ida)
You'll be amazed at Ciro's skills and strength and will not believe he is a senior citizen.
Would recommend for a true Chilean experience and you need to be able to speak Spanish.
My partner wanted to give it 3/5 but I really enjoyed it...probably very expensive for what we got... but tied in with staying in the house - i'll give it more
See Separate review for the homestay.
