A fantastic experience. Great wines, great food, great host.

We booked the 'paring' experience and it was fantastic. After an extremely interesting tour of the vineyard by our host, Caro, we were then served a variety of wines - red, white, sparkling rose and a dessert wine to try and then presented with an amazing lunch which was - as the name would suggest - paired with the wines. It was superb! The dining room was bright and airy and nothing was too much trouble Even some of our questions!

It was a fabulous experience and Caro is so helpful and interesting. The organic aspect of the vineyard was a particular draw for us. I would happily recommend the Chateau Feely experience. 5 stars!

A great experience - highly recommended

We spent a lovely couple of hours tasting wine and learning about the land and the process of reverting the vines to their natural state using biodynamics and organic farming at Chateau Feely. Caro is an excellent hostess and explains the process very well. What she and her husband are trying to achieve is commendable and exciting. Their wines are also excellent. We would love to go again, and perhaps stay at the Chateaux. The location and views are fantastic.

We spent the most fabulous week relaxing at the wine cottage. Caro is the perfect host; professional, helpful, extremely knowledgable, informative and engaging. For me the holiday highlights were the walking wine tour with Caro ending with lunch at Le Relais de Monastier, the night time party in Sausaignac village square, and the wine and food pairing at Chateau Feely. It was a very hot week so we enjoyed a daily cool down in the beautiful pool with our holiday neighbours from Canada. We hired electric bikes which were fabulous for getting around, even a ride to Monbazillac over 10 miles away was easy. This was our second stay at Chateau Feely and will definitely return, thank you Caro for letting us stay at your beautiful chateau.

Vineyard life

We stayed in the Wine Lodge with friends and during our stay thoroughly enjoyed 2 days wine walking with Caro. It’s everything mentioned in the recent reviews, a really unique experience. We highly recommend Chateau Feely and all it offers .

Exceeded our Expectations....

2 of us booked to go on the half day wine tour with Caro. Wow we had the best time and learnt so much about the environment Caro was so knowledgeable, and nothing was too much trouble. We asked so many questions and she answered them all perfectly.

It was like a school trip for grown-ups. We enjoyed all the history around organic wine making and learning about the soil and the different environments for the vines. We even eat a cabernet sauvignon grape that was growing on the vine.

we were then given wines to taste and how to taste them properly and then given a salad with a cheese board so we could pair the wines. absolutely delicious and the food went perfectly with the wines.

Caro has written 3 books about her and her families experience moving to France and starting the business. I have downloaded them all from Amazon (You can buy them there) on my kindle and am loving them.

Getting the "feel" for organic wines

We had a wonderful half day education with wine and food pairings. We walked through the vineyard and learned about growing organic, biodynamic wines. Caro Feely shared her enthusiasm and dedication to the wines. The food, wine and company were all outstanding!

A memorable stay.

Truly a unique and memorable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Chateau Feely. The wine lodge accommodation very comfortable even in hot weather. Retreating to the pool and then a glass of wine on the patio was a great way to finish the day.

The highlight, however, was the time we spent with Caro. She is a natural teacher - knowledgable, enthusiastic and so much fun. On our tours with Caro, we learned so much about wine making, the Dordogne region and most importantly the need to change to organic methods whether it be for vineyards or for our own gardens at home.

An extraordinary week at Chateau Feely

Where do we begin describing a most extraordinary week of staying, playing, and learning at Chateau Feely? It has to be with Caro. Whether she was playing host with us as gite guests, touring us through St. Emilion and Grand Cru Classe chateaus, teaching us about vineyards, wine making, and wine, or leading us on a walk through the local countryside, she did it with passion, exuberance, and a wealth of knowledge.
We learned so much, but what we really appreciated was how Caro emphasized the benefits of organic and biodynamic vineyards and wine making. She inspired us. The proof is in the quality of the wine that Caro and Sean have produced.
Imagine staying on a vineyard, going to school where you drink wine, swimming in a salt water pool when you need to cool down, and drinking delicious wine in the evening on a deck overlooking the vineyard where it all started - it doesn't get any better.

A model vineyard

Ch. Feely is a very special place. Not just organic, but biodynamic - and if you aren't sure what that involves, book in for a stay in one of the cottages or a tour of the vineyard and tasting, and you will see. The whole place is literally buzzing with with life and vitality. Caro will explain everything very clearly and the wines are a convincing argument all on their own.
Sorry if I sound like a fanboy but my visit really opened my eyes to the possibilities when you work alongside nature, instead of beating it into submission with chemicals.
The Wine Cottage was very comfortable and the vineyard has fine views over the surrounding countryside. Caro and Sean very welcoming and friendly.
Highly recommended.

Great wine tasting experience

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely wine tasting experience with a tour of the vineyard with host Caro. We listened to how biodynamics helped the production of the lovely wine we had tasted with a lunch of cheese and bread. I’d thoroughly recommend it to anyone who enjoys learning about wine in France.
