This is one of the Not to Miss places while visiting Kaziranga. It has a Wonderful Orchid Park with many different types of Orchids, Then there is a Museam of Old Tribal Vessels & Arms with other items. There is a demonstration of Natural Cloth Weaving by Hand and the how Colourful prints are homemade with minimum instruments.
There is also a Cultural Dance show with their Famous Bamboo Dance and at the end the dancers teach their female guest some of their dancing techniques.
Last but not the least, Dont forget to buy a Wooden Rhino or other wooden as a Sovenier or Gift to take back.

we visited the park once again after 4 years. we enjoyed it as much or even more than three first visit.
the place has 800 varieties of orchids, the largest one in India (and possibly in Asia. they blossom in different seasons and hence one is not able you watch more than 70-80 at any given time. That variety itself was quite heartening to experience. so many colours, sizes, shapes, shades everything so beautiful. we even got to see black flower.
full marks to their staff. Full of knowledge, willing to explain everything in great details with smiling face. They really love their job. They are quite well trained too.
Besides the orchids, there are many other interesting things in the park. Museum comprising of many things that give idea of culture of various North eastern states and this tribes. the experience there was made quite enjoyable, once again due to the passionate and week trained staff who explained us everything in great detail.
Cactus garden is another interesting section. i never realised cactus can be so beautiful with so many varieties. however the inner i saw 4 years back was even more beautiful.
Bamboo garden area has 70 different variety of bamboos. The trained staff painstakingly explained us in great details. this is the area where one can sit quietly for an hour refresh oneself.
we loved traditional Asamese food as well and watched culture dances too.
one can easily spend 5-6 hours here and go home with lots of memories

This was an excellent visit and a must do when in the vicinity. Remember it closes at 5 pm !! and requires at least 3 hours to visit all sections.
The person attending us was very well informed and explained a lot in detail about orchids they grew. Also please visit the medicinal plant section and museum, where the attendants are also well informed.
The cultural program at 6pm is also great !!

Our visit to the park was a unexpectedly amazing bonus of our Kaziranga trip. The day was cloudy and the forecast was a drizzle hence we decided to skip the safari for the day. Considering we had the whole day free we looked around for what else we could do and the Orchid Park popped up. Made a plan for a hours visit and lunch. Little did we know that it would turn out to be so spectacular that we would spend 4 hours there.
The park is extremely well made and a must visit part inside the park is the orchid section. A lady there showed us around and wow, what an educative trip it was. Do ask for Ms. Sumitra Radha. Her pleasantness combined with her absolutely incredible knowledge about orchids made our day. We learnt so much in the hour we spent there.
As you move up the hill there are pathways there is an Assam museum as well as a Naga Museum. Both are a good walk through.
The lunch is absolutely spectacular. A thali with more items than you can count makes it a trip through Assamese cuisine. And the manager there Jayanta Gogoi, is very helpful as you go through this mouth watering experience.
I will surely go back on my next Kaziranga visit.

It’s India’s largest Orchid garden. It’s a must visit. Very Well maintained. They have guides who take you around the orchid conservatory explaining about the various orchids.
The variety of orchids is amazing and they are arranged artistically with other plants to make a beautiful picture. We saw lovely orchids resembling a dancing lady, a clown face, a monkey face etc. We learnt that Vanilla is an orchid, all orchids are 6 petalled and one of them is modified, and orchids are epiphytes.
Apart from this, the park also has a cactus garden, a herbal garden,a nursery and a museum which houses the Assamese cultural heritage of hand looms, olden weapons and old pictures.
One can watch the cultural dance program every evening and enjoy a 12 items Assamese thali too at the park.
There are souvenirs shops here where one can pick up traditional gifts.
A neat 2-3 hrs would be a good spend at the place.

my experience in the park was absolutely amazing. they have orchid conservatory which you can explore with the help of guides who are available to show you around. they will explain each and every detail of all the orchids that they have conserved. then there is a museum which has traditional artifacts belonging to different tribes in Assam. there will be guides to help and explain you the history of this region. i should mention here that all the guides are very knowledgeable.
apart from that we enjoyed the Assamese thali which has around 20-25 different food items at a very minimal cost.
every evening the park also organizes cultural shows which will give you a flavor of a variety of dance forms existing in Assam amongst its various tribes and communities.

Will it be opened till last week of April and first week of May 2019?
Tell me about types of safari and its charges ?
Jajabor
Guwahati, อินเดีย1,473 ผลงาน
Biodiversity Orchid Park is managed by a cooperative society and that should be open in those days but Kaziranga National Park and Safari may not be there in the month of May as the KNP is open from November to April. Generally you get Jeep Safari and Elephant Safari and estimated charge is 950 per head for elephant safari and approx 750 per head for Jeep Safari.
Will park be kept open on 16 January

No Resorts are Inside the Park . Best bet is to stay in The Tourism Resort of Aranya. It is neat n Claen. Gives you food on Order. we found the food was freshly prepared and good. It is 50 yards to Jeep Safari Booking kiosk and elephant Safri Booking Kisosk. Infant we got these booked thru the Manager of Aranya resort. You can contact me at 9810627337. I can send you more details as we spent 3 Nights there.

Hi,
Kaziranga Bio diversity park is an orchid garden along with food facility. They organise traditional concerts regularly. Thus one can enjoy Assamese food along with some Assamese cultural taste. They have a nice collection of orchids. It is open throughout the year. U can enjoy a day long trip.

I hope the elephants and other animals are not kept in captivity? Its safari, right?

While the animals are not held captive, the elephant safari is carried out on captive elephants that are broken down to listen to the Mahaut's instructions.
I would advise against the elephant safari instead to take the jeep one which is just as fulfilling.

what is the cost of the safari in kaziranga national park?
Fabian G
มุมไบ (บอมเบย์), อินเดีย139 ผลงาน
Safari charges are Rs.2300 per Jeep per safari, this is for four in one Jeep. Similarly there are elephant safari where the cost could be 1000 per person.
Permit for safari needs to be taken rather names and details of people visiting have to be given in advance.

How far (by distance & time) is the Kaziranga National Orchid And Biodiversity Park from Kohora, Kaziranga National Park? Google Map shows that the Orchid & Bio Park is at a distance of 167 kms and takes 3+ hrs one way. Is that a wrong location on google maps?

Kaziranga National Park is covering Kohora as well as Bagori area. Jeep safari and Elephant safari r available through both Kohora as well as Bagori entrance, depending upon the season. as far as Orchid Biodiversity Park is concerned, its in Kohora area only. U wl find its entrance on the NH 37 itself(on your right hand side while coming from Guwahati end).
