For the effort required and the risk taken by putting your life in the hands of a 4x4 driver who passes other vehicles when you wish he wouldn't, I wouldn't bother. It's not that great unless you wish to pose for Instagram and somehow impress the world.

Great little hike in the winter. We went to the small waterfall first, not realizing that there is a bigger one. On our way back down, we saw the sign for the bigger one and we were told by hikers coming down that the extra 20 minutes and 400-meter climb were worth it. Totally was!

There are two falls here, both trailheads are close together. The Smaller Falls has a nice easy-to-hike trail with little elevation rise; however, the Larger Falls requires some scrambling up a steep slope at the conclusion of the hike. Very nice area with the sound of the creeks on both hikes your soundtrack. The Larger Falls is more popular with more visitors, if you don't want crowds, the Smaller Falls is your ticket to peace.

We took a 4x4 part of the way up and then did the walk into the smaller falls which is 15mins. You will need good foot wear and be comfortable walking over uneven ground. Nice waterfall but I probably wouldnt have done the walk if I knew about the uneven surface.

If you are from europe and you have already seen some waterfalls i dont recommend. Its nothing special. If you wanna go half way up with the car, you need good offroad experience and a 4x4.

Such a pretty little waterfall. The path to it is littered with so many flowers, ferns etc.

Absolutely stunning waterfall in the mountains. It’s a hike up there but it’s worth every step. You need to be pretty physically fit because some of the areas you really had to maneuver so if you’re older and have mobility problems you will not be able to do this.

Great hike up to a gorgeous waterfall, well worth the hike up. Maybe a 1/2 hike from the road. You need to be pretty agile to get where you can stand at the bottom.

Przyjemna choć niełatwa wspinaczka zakończona wodospadem. Do wyboru 2 opcje: wodospad mały i duży. Warto wybrać Duży trasa nieznacznie dłuższa, efekt finalny zdecydowanie lepszy.

Die Wanderungen zu den Wasserfällen sind nich sehr schwer, zum kleineren und nicht minder schönen ist gut zu erlaufen. Der Weg zum grosen Wasserfall ist schon beschwerlich, gerade zum Ende hin und erfordert unbedingt festes Schugühwerk und Trittsicherheit. Beide Wasserfälle sind sehenswert.

I would imagine it would be. It is frozen in the winter months, should be flowing in the summer. Very close to Kazbegi so worth visiting anyway. There is a nice walk leading up to the waterfall.

I was wondering if it is possible to walk from Stepandsmandia to Gveleti Waterfalls through Gveleti Church and comeback in 1 day? If so how many hours would it take ?

Hi,
firs of all I want to tell you that, it's too far for walk and also you can't walk through the wild nature to the waterfall, you must go along the main road or near it.

Is it possible to hike to this waterfall from the car with a toddler in rucksac carrier or is the path too rough and steep?

I think you can try. The way is not so far. I think the distance is less than 1.5 km from the car parking directly to the waterfall. better if someone will be with you to help you if you need. The view along the way to the waterfall, and the waterfall are so beautiful!!!
