Now this is something not for the person afraid of heights. We did the canopy walk and even though it was really enjoyable, it can be a little daunting. When you climb up the staircase, you actually can feel it swaying which gave my wife quite a shock and she was a little frightened. We also walked on the cantilever which swayed as well. Yes adventurous or a little crazy. A wonderful experience to see the world above the forest and looking at how it was developed and manufactured is outstanding. Certainly worth the money. The cafeteria is good and sells a good range of food. Toilets are clean and staff are pleasant.

It was quite a good experience and most likely you will enjoy your time if you choose to go.
It is a fair walk from the car park to the start of the bridges, which is not a bad thing, but just means it takes a bit longer to see than you might think.
The only reason I did not rate this a bit higher is because triplet falls is so close and it is free.
If your time is a little limited, you might get a cheaper forrest experience by doing just the triplet falls trail walk.

I would like to give a massive shout out to the fabulous staff at the Otway Fly!
I pre-booked our entry to the treetop walk for 12.00, but didn’t rock up until 2.15pm (because travelling with kids…). The staff didn’t bat an eyelid at our lateness and let us in. Once we got past the ticket booth, a wonderful staff member offered us a lift in the buggy down to the fairy garden, which was a much better alternative than a 10 minute walk with a grumpy toddler and baby in a carrier.
We had a lovely walk around the fairy garden and then along the treetop walk, which has grown incredibly since we were last here 10 years ago.
Once we got back to the buggy station, we were able to call again and the buggy took us back up the hill to the visitor centre. Our daughter got a lollipop and sticker for completing the scavenger hunt in the fairy garden which absolutely made her day!
Our baby was losing his mind by then, but despite the fact that we were quite literally the last people there, we were made to feel very welcome to sit in front of the gas log fire while I breastfed our son.
Thank you so much for your kindness towards our family, our experience at the Otway Fly really started our holiday off on an amazing note.

We've now had the joy of doing the four treetop adventures around our nation and we'd rate the Ottwaty Fly as the lowest of the four. Yes, you walk up to see majestic gums, but it's quite a walk from the carpark to that spiral tower. We'd suggest the owners need to add a sign in the carpark with a map of the site that indicates length of the walk and the fairly steep hill up from the Ottway Fly back to the visitor's centre. All the signs along the walk have rusted out and need to be replaced - suggesting a lazy approach to maintining excellence and a preference for income. The day before our visit here, we did the Food Trail - and every business is superb and generous. Not to Ottway Fly - you can't even bring a picnic lunch to enjoy before or after your walk!

This is the third time we have been here it is a lovely place to visit, it now has a fairy walk where the local mens shed has built little villages for fairies, gnomes, leprechaun and others well done chaps it’s amazing and a child’s delight. The rain forest is a beautiful walk and overlooking it from the canopy is awesome

We did not expect the car park to be 300m from the main office, and the actual walk to the treetop walk is very steep. The views from the top of the tower are amazing.
Some fellow walkers where needing help to walk back so the phoned the office and a buggy would come and pick them up, great Service.
A must do when in the area.

Great walk in a beautiful forest, very well priced for everyone to experience. Very clean grounds nature at its best. Cafe ok very limited food, minimal muffins, frozen egg sandwich, stick standard deep fried food. I understand that COVID is probably a factor in the staff to either make food or deliver. Still a great day out

Great walk first through the forest then up on the skywalk, great views, wildlife and flora, a credit to the operators and a must if you visit the Otways.

We enjoyed this experience and everything was well signposted and plenty of sign posting along the walk to the treetops. This is not for the faint hearted though as it is a decent walk to the treetop and then after that 100 steps down and then a walk back. Very disappointed that staff allowed so many people inside with no masks and let them roam freely inside.

Well set out and very clean and maintained. Lots of benches too set on. The gift shop was good and lots of parking.

My family are visiting next March and we already have a motorhome booked.
We would very much like to visit Otway Fly but I understand from the website that the road leading to it is unsuitable for a motorhome.
I am planning on staying in Apollo Bay and wondered if there was a shuttle bus/town bus that goes there or if it will simply be a taxi from our campsite? If it is a taxi any idea on cost? Thank you

Hi Rebecca,
It is possible to drive your Motorhome to the Otway Fly site, but you will need to plan your trip to go round about from Apollo Bay as the direct road from town goes through a National Park and is very treacherous (40kph all the way with lots of braking and very narrow). It is a beautiful drive going the long way around and worth stopping for the occasional sight-seeing. I am sure you will love the trip and adventure of moving away from the Great Ocean Road for this special day with the gnomes in Otway Fly park among their tree homes. Have a great trip and ENJOY.

Rebecca, you can take your motor home to the Otway Fly if your drive there from Apollo Bay via Lavers Hill. The route that is unsuitable for a motor home takes you via Turtons Track and you should avoid this direction. Give yourself a good hour to get there to get there.

I have a small fear of heights and truly dislike roller coasters because of that stomach dropping feeling they give you- hence why I do not go on them. I have never zip lined before but I think it would be a great experience. My question is: does the zip line go so fast to the point where you get that stomach dropping experience? How long is the so line trip? I understand you can stop the line with a hand brake. As long as it doesn't go super fast I think I can deal with the height. Any feedback would be appreciated.

No, the zipline doesn't go so fast that you get the stomach dropping feeling at all.
The experience is approximately 2 hours and time goes by extremely quickly.
You don't stop the line with a hand brake whilst flying along, it is used at the end of each line from tree to tree.
It doesn't go superfast and the height isn't too bad at all. Being in such a beautiful area, you don't notice the height whatsoever.
Would thoroughly recommend it !

The Tree-Top-Walk is an enclosed National Forestry Park thus you cannot hike within that location. However there are surrounding area you & your team can hike (you need further research on that option).
However, even paying for the expensive entrance fee, you will find it is a life-the worth-while visit (especially for overseas tourist like me).
Don't miss this as I had done one tree-top-walk at location near Albany (Western Australia), and this one is better.
