It is great to see monkeys roaming freely, being happy and basically monkeying around. The place is well organized as well for the monkeys and for the human visitors, it has a place to have a tea or juice, there is a lot of information offered about the monkeys and their way of life. It was a wonderful experience to get to see them so up close and without them being in a zoo or some sort of enclosure.

What's great about this place is it isn't a zoo. You are up-close and personal with friendly monkeys and you can watch these healthy creatures interact with each other and enjoy a nice mealtime. It is so peaceful to spend time with these beautiful animals, who are obviously used to people - they are vain enough to enjoy time with the mirror. And the baby monkeys are too adorable.

If you don't have to go too far (meaning your are in the Taichung area) and you want to see some non-Zoo monkeys, this place should get you taken care of at the right time of day. These are wild Formosan Macaques that are very used to people and congregate here because of the fruit offered. We saw lots of family groups as well as several large males. Uncle Guo gives talks about the Macaques several times a day but you will need to speak Chinese or Taiwanese to follow. Not a bad place but not a great place either, worth the trip from Taichung once in my book.
A word on getting there. I tried to input this place into google maps using the address provided but that did not get us there. Fortunately I had read a description in a blog about how to get there and we decided to just try to get there with no GPS. To go by GPS search for this place Guo Shushu macaques ecological zones 郭叔叔獼猴生態區 and you should be in good shape. Otherwise you can just drive to Dakeng Scenic Area Trail #4 and start looking for monkey signs. Drive through the Boy Scout camp and you are there.

請大家一定要先確認餵食秀時間，每日3場，提前30分鐘抵達即可，因為園區不大，獼猴們除了餵食秀開始前出現到吃飽離開，前後約40分鐘，其他時段看不到猴子，請爸媽體諒野生動物熱愛自由不受控制的，而且務必遵守規定，工作人員（應該是郭太太）很用心分享獼猴習性，如果喜歡昆蟲，可以稍微逛逛園區，夏天園區花多鳳蝶也很多，來這裡請大家多多支持郭叔叔愛獼猴的心意，降低標準來看看和動物園不一樣的獼猴生態，就會覺得挺不錯玩的！畢竟餵養ㄧ大群野生獼猴也需要花費不少錢的，而且一天還吃3次！

因為每日定期餵食，當地野生猴群會在餵食時間聚集至園區。
園方將野生猴群及觀賞群眾區隔開，避免人類過度靠近，影響猴群的生活；並有園區飼養的「牧猴犬」，阻止野生猴群越界。每日兩次園方的餵食秀，能看到猴群聚集的生活百態。園方的獼猴生態教學，能瞭解到許多獼猴的習性。既能近距離觀看又不會影響野生獼猴的生態，很適合全家大小同遊。PS.夏天因為山區野生水果繁多，聚集的獼猴會比冬天來的少些，但會有獼猴到園區準備的水池跳水，各有特色。
