Dharma Drum Mountain claims to be a Righteous Buddhist Monastery with tons of PhDs and loads of donations. The Founder Master Shengyen is my idol and who I thrive to become one day, and the first abbot Venerable Guodong was a great person with a smile and a generous heart. The current abbot Venerable Guohui is always having a stern face, yet he is not nearly as good as the last abbot.
If all you can do is play videos of the deceased founder Master Shengyen, there is no innovation, and it is kind of pathetic.
The DILA College has a great Principal, who is a practitioner of Pureland Buddhism, the the current department head Mr. Deng is pretty pathetic. He forgets his seminars at other colleges, and his broken English and Harvard PhD is his only assets.
Buddha preached equality and liberation of all mankind, so if you have some grudge against the current President Tsai, you are not really a real Buddhist Monk at all. Dalai Lama even forgave his biggest nemesis Mao Zedong.
Will you practice what you preach, and stop playing old records of my idol Venerable Shengyen?
The Dharma Drum Monastery was build with lots of money from people's donations, so if the monks and nuns here think they are so honorable and knowledgable, they do't really understand Buddhism at all.
Having PhD doesn't mean you know everything, so if you monks think you are so smart, then you have no wisdom and prajna at all.
May these ignorant monks really understand what the founder Shengyen taught, and practice what they preach. Abbot Guohui has a tendency of being late and sour. Please, be a man, and stop being such a hypocrite.

The Buddhist college temple founded by Master Sheng Yan. You can enjoy the fresh air, flowers and grass.
It leaning on the mountain and facing the sea with the nice horizon view. The water in front of the Guanyin Temple make you feel calm. It is definitely worth to visit this place.

（バス会社）国光客運のバス、路線番号1815番で台北駅から行く事が出来ます。
車で行く場合は手前の駐車場まで、そこからシャトルバスに乗り換えます。
バス降車場（入口）に到着すると同じユニフォームを着たボランティアの方々が迎えて案内してくれます。
訪問時、たまたま日本語の出来るボランティアの方が居ましたが、場所柄台湾の方が多く外国語はあまり聞こえません。ボランティアの方々は施設の至る所にいらっしゃって案内をしてくれます。館内は宗教施設と博物館が融合造りになっています。
観光地では無い神聖な場所なので、Tシャツ、短パンやサンダル姿は控えるべき、写真も係の方に聞いてから撮影しましょう。、

We were a group of six who came for a day tour of this beautiful spiritual community started in 1989 and completed in 2005 by Master Sheng Yen. We arrived and had a tour of the main building that gave an excellent history of the project and its place within the Chan Buddhist Tradition. We had an excellent lunch in the monastery dining room and then visited the lotus feel park which houses a 15 ton bronze bell inscribed with the Diamond Sutra in 80,000 characters. It is rung twice a year.
The hospitality was very kind, the tour informative and the place is a beautiful example of contemporary Buddhist design.

April 15, 2019; Since it IS Monday…most but not all places are closed! I went to Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education. I got some guidance; a map with bus numbers on it. I’ve already taken bus # 790, so I know where it goes. Then I take bus # 1815 to DDM but there is no signage, so I took a taxi. It costs 200 NT$. I arrived at 8:30. The signage, guide book says they open at 8 AM but unfortunately, they open at 9 AM. No photos inside, but photos outside. I spent 3 hours there & walked to some of the short trails. Then I walked down the road to take a bus, eh? Instead, I took a taxi back to town (Jinshan). It costs 100 NT$. Then back by bus # 790 to Keelung. It’s an hour, one way! It was a really nice day!

I wrote a review below called tips for visiting dharma drum and stated that there is an online registration form that will make things much easier. However, I forgot to mention that the form is in Chinese! So if you don’t know Chinese, just email them. They have translators.

好莊嚴佛學院寺，空氣很好。花草多，聖嚴法師所創立。他已不在人間。若他有往生西方極樂世界，應該知道娑婆世界，就是西方極樂世界，有悟當下就是。
