Shin Kong Life Tower was Taipei's first skycraper. It is in the centre of Taipei, just opposite the Taipei Train Station. Among other things, it is famous for the Mitsukoshi department store, an up-market shopping complex which occpupies the lower half of the tower. The upper half of the building is used for office space. The Shin Kong Life Tower is one of Taipei's most-visited buildings.

Shin Kong Life Tower is opposite the Taipei Main Station. It was Taipei's first skyscraper. It is 51 stories -- 245 metres (804 feet) in height. There is a pyramid on top of the building. The building is rose coloured. The lower floors accommodate the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store; the upper floors are used for office space. The Shin Kong Life Tower is very centrally located, but the commercial heart of the city in now in the east of Taipei, near Taipei 101, which is now the island's tallest building.

The Shin Kong Life Tower is in Xhongxiao Rd, opposite the Taipei Main Station. The Shin Kong Life Tower, when it was built in 1993, was one of Taipei's tallest skyscrapers. At 51 storeys and 245 meters (800 feet) it remains a major landmark. The Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store occupies the lower 12 floors. Although the building is still a business center, the commercial center of the city has shifted to the east. Taipei 101 is the dominant financial hub in Taipei.

台北駅に滞在中こちらのビルへ立ち寄りました。このエリアのランドマーク的な役割の目立つビルで、新光三越が入っていることで観光客にもお馴染みです。

台北駅前に立っている高層ビルで、飛行機からもすぐに見つけることができます。下層階は三越になっていて入り口には例のライオン像もあります。少し狭いです。

The building is impressive but extremely crowded. It takes a long time to get to the observatory. There is a full-fledged shopping mall in the basement of the building.

Gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof mit U-Bahn Eingang direkt vor Tower, japanisches Kaufhaus in den ersten 10 Etagen, kleiner, atmosphärisch freundlicher foodcourt, in welchem man ua exzellenten, frisch aufgebrühten Kaffee verschiedener Bohnensorten bekommt.
