Donations accepted but the expanse of this park is well worth taking the time to navigate through all of the different areas. We did get a little lost back up in the woods but back tracked out.

I enjoyed that some art was obvious like sculptures of people or animals. I liked the whimsy of some modern art style of birds and aquatic features. Fun interactive art from rock-paper-scissors to sound related art. A huge bear sculpture is a fun way for a picture. Walk by a pond, thru a forest, around the grounds. You can spend 30 minutes or hours experiencing this nice amenity on the island.

We visited the garden for just 30 minutes. Way to short to do it justice.
A nice combination of nature and arts.
Poetry, sculptures and walks make this an enjoyable treat just away from the harbor’s business.

The sculpture park was different and an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. We didn’t have enough time to see it all, but what we did see was fantastic. Wide open spaces, a lot of walking and a beautiful sunny day…we couldn’t ask for more. Definitely worth the stop.

Amazing landscaping, sculptures and scenery in one. They have a large variety of sculptures and a cool hike through the trees which is very interesting. You must walk all the way yo the shore where you can see the siren and other sculptures against a beautiful ocean backdrop.

We spent a wonderful morning wandering through this 20 acre park, discovering all the incredible pieces of art on display. The trails lead to uniquely developed placements of many sculpture pieces from sheep wandering on the hillside, to deep ocean vessels floating in the pond, to well placed benches for a rest up or reflection. There are some interactive pieces which are great fun and you are invited to explore these, as well as a magical walk in the Whimsy Woods with surprises galore. (don't miss picking up the laminated card to help you out!) We have been twice, but we will be back often!

What a find! It is a garden. It is an outdoor art museum. It is a great place for a casual stroll. It is all of these rolled into one delightful experience. One note to ponder: give yourself more time than you would have thought, for there are sculptures of every size and description prominently displayed or subtly hidden in every direction. Seriously, let the concept of time go and revel in being surrounded by these fascinating works of art. This was a highlight of visiting San Juan Island.

This place is such a find. We just happened to be exploring the grounds of the Inn at Roche Harbor and came across it. It is expansive - with a wide variety of artwork, most of which is for sale. Which is cool for a number of reasons - one of which is that you'd assume the artwork changes over time. There is a lot of poetry throughout - from David Mark Jenkins. It really added to the experience, in my opinion.

My visit to San Juan Islands Sculpture Park was the highlight of my time on San Juan. The park is a thoughtfully curated landscape of beauty - the sculptures are profound, thought provoking and even interactive (the peace wall is beautiful!), the grounds are gorgeous - pond, bay, nature trail, forest - each pathway intentionally and artistically cultivated to highlight Mother Earth in her resplendent beauty in harmony with the incredible sculptures. For me, it was the addition of poetry verse, displayed on placards throughout the Park, that elevated my immersive experience to one of pure sensory bliss - truly spectacular! As I was leaving, I thanked a gardener, mentioning how moved I was by the sculpture park, particularly the addition of poetry. Synchronistically, this gentleman cultivating the grounds was - is! - the resident poet!!! (DM Jenkins). A surreal and unforgettable experience. The San Juan Islands Sculpture Park (free - donations) is a MUST visit for a self-guided walk in nature and a memorable artistic elevation.

We stopped by this place going to Roche Harbor in Washington and it was really neat. A lot of sculptures and art on about 20 acres.
