Nice surprise. The “picnic” was so elegant and delicious. I would definitely recommend. The ruins of the castle grounds were beautiful.

This stay was part of our Live Love Ride bike trip. The rooms were comfortable. The views were spectacular. The spa facilities were nice and Eugenia was the nicest employee at the resort. The lady who managed breakfast was also very good. The rest of the staff was a bit aloof. Down the town roads is a delightful cafe operated by the grandson of a former resident. One wine & 3 beers were 5 Euro. We wanted to do the PR1 hike but it was a little tough to figure out. I recommend starting in the direction of town first as there are red & white stripes on some poles to provide direction.

Não vi o interior do castelo apenas o redor visto que se paga 1.5€ para entrar. Mesmo que seja para preservar o património é muito dinheiro para ver ruínas. Sugestão: oferecer algo para atrair o cliente a pagar

Surpreendeu-me. Visto de fora não parece tão grande. Podia ter um guia e a porta das 2 igrejas abertas já que lá dentro só se entra com bilhete e portão fechado. Vale a pena visitar.

Com tantas coisas para ver é preciso muito tempo epaciência pra chegar aos lugares que todos gostam de ver.Muitas pessoas ofegantes por tanto subirem e descerem para chegarem a todos os lados: Porta do Norte,Porta de Santa Maria,Pelourinho,Caoela Santa BArbara,Capela Santiago,Cruzeiro,Casa do Leão,Solar do MArqùes de Marialva e até um pequeno cemitério...Fiquei deslumbrado e percebo agora porque lhe atribuiram a categoria de Aldeia Histórica !! Os nossos antepassados fizeram maravilhas e MArialva eternizou-os como herois.
Os habitantes actuais reconstruiram as casas,fizeram casas de aluguer,comconstruções que estão dentro das regras das muralhas que estão juntas.

Interesting the ruins of an old Castle. My advice is don't come in the summer time too hot to profit the visit. You should also have a guide to 3xplain to you the details and history.

We loved our visit to the Castelo de Marialva. The grounds were deserted except for our small group of seven. We had a guide to point out all the notable spots and markings.
This castle is a national monument so it shouldn't be missed.
Within the fortress is a church and a chapel. We had access to both. The art is preserved and easily accessible.
There is an office just outside the castle gate that has information and a restroom.
From the castle you can see a great distance and the view was lovely.

What an amazing castle. The site is very large and from a distance looks nothing special. But it has a huge citadel inside the well-preserved walls, together with two very interesting and beautifully maintained religious chapels. The guided tour was delivered by Monica, whose English is brilliant. She was so lovely and very informative and entertaining. It really was the most wonderful experience.

Acredito que durante o dia, visto que não há luz elétrica e apenas o portão que é trancado, sendo aberto pelo segurança!
Aproveite e visite com a luz do dia!

I don't know if you have travelled yet, but we just returned from Portugal and there is an interesting accommodation right next to the castelo called Casas Do Coro.
