As the last review says signage is awful, we too ended up parking on wasteland which was full of dog muck. Realising we were in the were in the wrong place we drove further down and missed the turning (car park is in a school). Finally got there and it is awe inspiring a wonderful tribute.

Disappointed by surroundings

Is there a museum? Visitor centre? Car park? Signage is awful … we parked on a patch of wasteland. Took a picnic but grass was too overgrown to sit. This wonderful statue deserves better.

Very thought provoking

Driving into Six Bells, I saw a car park but didn’t realise it was where I should’ve parked to see the statue. However, from this carpark, it’s about a two or three minute walk up a slight gradient. From afar, the statue blends into the environment yet looks solid when you’ve up close.

A must see...

As others have said this memorial is haunting. The scale adds to its prominence and it’s hard to stand underneath it and not give a thought to the poor minors for which it represents.
I still get that same feeling of admiration and sheer awe that I had the first time I seen it. The area has an eerily quietness about it.

Parking has now been resolved due to the new school being finished but I agree there should be better signage.

It’s a shame to see this page being used to air political views regarding the surrounding area and the building of the new school. I was opposed to the school and still hold that view but take nothing away from this memorial and the reason it’s there in the first place.
I also can’t understand some of the reviews describing it as haunting, breathtaking, amazing etc with 4 star ratings :(

A quick visit

Will comeback here when the parking is sorted out.
Had a quick look at the Guardian from the above field.
It's very peaceful with plenty of nature all around.
An amazing monument to a very sad event in Welsh history.
Would recommend a visit when on a nice sunny day.
