Beautiful, no words are needed to describe it, just go there , go inside, keep your eyes closed for 5 minutes,,, and feel the peace and calmness invading your mind, your soul, your body. A simple cathedral, compared to the European ones, yet beautiful and full of history,

It was closed to visitors when we arrived, but the outside was very nice. They had a nativity display with a few life-sized statues.

Principal templo de la ciudad con torres desiguales por las limitaciones de calles de la ciudad y de orden jesuíta por lo que carece de ornamentación recargada pese a ser estilo barroco.
No fue posible acceder al interior.

Havana Cathedral  is one of eleven Catholic cathedrals on the island and is located in the Plaza de la Catedral in Old Havana. Here Christopher Columbus’ remains were kept in the cathedral between 1796 and 1898 before they were taken to Seville Cathedral.

Occupa un intero lato di Plaza de la Catedral, la sua facciata barocca è in armonia con il contesto della bella piazza. All’interno è più austera, con un bell’altare con dipinti pregevoli. Ha due campanili ai lati, di differente altezza. Per 50 pesos si può salire a piedi sul più basso, la vista ripaga la fatica. Da non perdere

Plaza de la Catedral, adını buradaki Catedral de San Cristobal’den alıyor. Bir katolik katedrali.Barok tarzda yapılmış. 1748 – 1777 yılları arasında . Christophe Colomb adına inşa edilmiş. Kristof Kolomb ‘un cenazesi 1898 yılına kadar buradaymış ama daha sonra Sevilla’ya taşınmış.

My favourite cathedral and square in old Havana

We stayed nit far from here so got to wLk past this cathedral every day. The square has lots of restaurants tucked off in little side streets. Buskers come out during the day and it's Live with tourists. My favourite square.

such a great location for a beautiful cathedral. close to everything and on your walk around here, you will get to experience Havana old and new around every corner.

the interior is incredible and the view after climbing the tower is astounding!
